My orthopedic surgeon suggested I wear a splint on my big toe when I sleep at night. I had been looking for a big toe splica that would prevent my toe from going into dorsiflexion( toe sticking up)I search everywhere in stores. I recently came across the EvoShield Oval multiFormat Guard. It works perfectly for my turf toe injury. I wrap my foot/ankle with an ace wrap to keep the guard on at night as I felt like it moved too much with just a sock. The guard works wonders for my foot and I feel like I am finally making some progress with this injury. I molded it when my toe was pretty swollen so I will probably have to purchase a new one now that the swelling is down. Worth the $ in my book. Saved the day!

I ordered this product for a great toe sesamoid fracture that is 3 weeks into healing. I intend to use it as added protection within my neoprene scuba diving boot as I have to enter and exit the water from shore and need to keep the great toe from bending--particularly upward. The Shield will also serve as a reminder/encouragement to weight bear primarily toward the lateral aspect of the foot.For molding, I molded over a very thin sock (to he sure I had room for tape strips in case of spots potentially rubbing), wrapped and taped the shield into place and pulled on the neoprene boot. It molded very well, though even with the stretch of neoprene, is a tight fit. For a regular shoe you will need either a wider shoe than you are accustomed to, a wider toe box, and/potentially a half size larger than normal.I have read other reviews that said the Shield, once hardened is easy to trim, so this may be an option if I find seam sections (which seal the gel that eventually hardens) if they're irritating.

It does what its supposed to do and hardens pretty quickly. But anti-fungal sprays, or maybe too much moisture in general, and a bit of force can cause it to lose its shape.What you really have to keep in mind when you buy this is that it's meant to prevent you from over extending your joints almost like a cast would! Which means if you're going to be doing a lot of running, this will definitely interfere with your top speed. At the same time the friction can cause bruising or blisters if you're being reckless. All in all I would definitely buy again and recommend this to others.

I injured my great toe several months ago (Turf Toe injury) and the doctor gave me a full foot/ankle brace that went up to my knee >_< needless to say I never wore it and kept reinjuring my toe. I'm a registered nurse and soldier, I can't wear a huge leg brace all the time for an injury that only affects my toe. I've been searching for something more practical and this is AWESOME. I wear it in my shoe and even at night while I sleep (as I have found I often irritate my toe when I sleep) and now I'm finally on the mend :) <3 It stabilizes my toe, is discrete, and much more comfortable than any other available alternatives. The product worked as expected. But it hurts when I run with this thing in my shoe. I have it right where it shows in the picture. Not sure how this works for others.

after wearing for a game of soccer, it wore holes in my skin at the tip and base of the product. It forms nicely and stays solid around the foot, installation was very straight forward and easy.I'd warn against anyone who uses this, see if you can apply a wrap under the product to prevent abrasion. For me, it's not feasible to wear more than once every few weeks due to how badly it rubbed the skin off my foot.

Worked ok but keep in mind this is a very difficult spot to protect without chafing. Stopped using the product after 3 days. We will try it playing soccer.
