Cheap enough, high quality, very versatile
These STRATHMORE BLANK WATERCOLOR POSTCARDS (pad of 15) are great! They serve the purpose very well. One side is completely blank; the other is formatted with conventional message and address lines for mailing. At a "mere" 4 x 6 inches (ca. 10 by 15 cm), they meet the USPS regulations for a domestic postcard and thus postage is about fifteen cents cheaper than letter rate. Color is white but not blindingly so, texture that slightly coarse feel somewhat like construction paper, but not enough to impede writing or art. They are acid-free and thick enough for watercolors of all kind. I just used my first one for a freehand pen-and-pencil sketch of Chicago's skyline -- they're more than thick enough to survive the rigors of Postrossing, something I can't always claim for all preprinted "art" postcards. While they are not super cheap, the price here is a significant discount from retail and given their versatility, I have a feeling I'll go through my first pad of fifteen fairly quickly. Enthusiastic recommendation.

Send original art - quality watercolor postcard
These will be a staple in my supplies. I have used them time and time again to send cards to friends and family. They love receiving the personalized art work. The paper quality is great as far as I'm concerned - perhaps a bit stiffer than the 9x12 pad I have. It seems to take more water to prewet this paper. But considering they are meant to be mailed, stiffer is a good thing. The important thing is that I notice no difference in the watercolors on these and my usual 140# paper.Since they're going in the US mail system, I seal them with a clear acrylic spray. They've arrived in good shape. But if you are really concerned that the artwork is protected, buy some envelopes.I plan to use these to create unique holiday art for each of my peeps on my mailing list and for those, I will probably buy envelopes.. I'm looking forward to this project.Great fun to have.

SURPRISINGLY DECENT
I'm not a Strathmore fan with my watercolors, but find them useful and practical at the holidays to sketch out my winter scenes, then use light (and I mean "light") water/pigment to paint my winter sketches. You get flat color and blooms from all postcard papers, so why buy those silly ridiculously priced Deutsch tins, right? I create a postcard a month, perhaps 2, for my supportive photographer sister in RI. My typical "German tins" with postcard paper inside (and a brick of styrofoam to create depth) was becoming too costly for my liking ("...but you can save the tins..." is a typical refrain), so I'm trying various affordable brands. My 1st card in January was masked snowflakes, then 2 different blues or pinks, to which I added sea salt, table salt and alcohol for texture to each drying card. Different papers dry at different times, and in different ways, but I was able to hit it just right on these postcards. Frankly, for my money, these did a superior job in sharp contrast to the German tin cards. And just for grins, I'll put these postcards into the empty tins that rarely speak Deutsch to me with my morning coffee. At least it will silence my naysayers--those that do not paint. Anyway, a surprisingly excellent end result from a surprisingly inexpensive paper. I love them, but that's just me. :)

Good for watercolorists
Very thick and sturdy paper with a nice texture to it for water color postcards. It held up nicely to the wash. And comes in handy for last minute postcards. Takes color wash nicely.

Pretty good
Pros: No bleed through, handles a wide range of mediums well, doesn’t gunk up your felt tips with fibers too bad, has a “postcard” template on the back that actually makes it feel like a postcard and not a random drawing you stuck a stamp on.Con’s: the off-white of the paper makes for duller colors, the textures a little gritty and it soaks up a lot, so you’ll use more ink/paint/color than with a smoother grit and colors/lines come out less even.Overall: good for casual project (for the price), gets the job done, and the cards come out really easily, which I wasn’t sure if that’s a pro, or con because sometimes they come loose unintentionally (adhesive weakens in heat, I was in an RV)

Personalize postcards
Strathmore Blank Watercolor Postcards pad of 15 (Package May Vary)Strathmore unquestionably makes great products. One is this watercolor postcards. I like the fact that it is just small. Painting on it is easy because of the texture and thickness of the paper. The size is just right. You would not get tired from painting on that small paper. The paper easily comes right off the binding. You would not have to worry about tearing it off. It may be a little pricey for a pad of 15 but for me it is still worth it. You get to design and personalize your own postcard for you to send out to family and friends.I would recommend this product especially if you plan to share your paintings to everyone.

Excellent, a winner with these!
Love these postcards, I definitely will order again. I used watercolor paints on a few and with some I used acrylic paints, the card weight worked excellent with both mediums. I ordered this size on a whim and found they are just right for a quick little card that you don't wish to elaborate on tiny fine details. I did insert them in envelopes for mailing so uncertain at this time as to how well they would post in the mail. The paper is white, not a bright blue white but not an ivory white either. I sealed the paintings with a gloss varnish, the cards did not wrinkle nor curl, I painted edge to edge without taping the cards down nor did I prep the card with primer.
