After losing my 5 year old cat, Pax, I searched for ways to heal. I also wanted to honor Pax. I thought first about Zen balancing rocks and I had seen cairns marking paths on walking trails…I first tried making my own rock stacks using rocks from my own gemstone rock collection, then from those gathered outside. Couldn’t figure out how to permanently connect them (I now have them on my patio; kick them over, stack ‘em up again). Found some on Amazon connected by metal rods, they just didn’t feel right.I guess Amazon suggested wood rocks based on my browsing history. I looked at different brands, found TUMI ISHI. The photos, descriptions, the name. Felt like Goldilocks, it was just right.The wood rocks are gorgeous. The woods are natural and varied; the finish with jojoba oil and bees wax is clean and unscented. Each rock was very different in shape. The cloth bag they came with was nice, very simple.I had several rocks personalized. Thank you to Stephen for working so closely with me. For understanding how special this “project” was.On stacking: I have some loss of function and sensation in one hand. Also severe carpal tunnel in the other. It didn’t really matter how many I could stack (At one point I actually stacked 12..).What I find in stacking rocks/things is PLAYING, HAVING FUN (I’ve even stacked magic markers, playing card houses); IMPERMANENCE and CREATIVITY (knock them over, stack ‘em up again…Think sand castles); MINDFULNESS and IN-THE-MOMENT time (intense focusing on positioning each block while letting go of everything else); STRATEGY (stacking order, which side to stack on..). OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY; positioning helps me improve compromised fine motor skills and sensations in my fingers and hands.BOTTOM LINE On TUMI ISHI:Really gorgeous species of woods, unique shapes and different sizes.Beautifully finished. The blocks were smooth, not at all slippery (gravity, angles more likely the challenge and fun). I repositioned, changed sides if it felt like an avalanche starting…The personalization is a wonderful touch (I’m not usually a big fan of personalized items, wouldn’t have thought of it). Stephen was so very patient and went out of his way on the engraving.I plan on ordering another, smaller set…(I did, they’re on their way!)Thank you, Stephen. A gift to me, for Pax. For his sister Jupiter (who loves to chase them when the tower falls.). I bought one for my brother's birthday.Loved it so much got a second set for my dad.

These blocks are so amazingly handcrafted and they just have good karma emitting from them. Honestly, they feel like the makers have infused them with a sweet dose of meditation. I purchased these for a gift - and because I loved them so much I am buying another set. Highly recommend.

Each block has a slippery coating. There is very little friction to rely upon, so stacking 4 or more blocks vertically is frustrating. They can be balanced, but the 5th causes the lower blocks to slip and fall.

Excellent product! There are different types of wood used that you wouldn't normally see together. Each wooden stone is unique with different colors and grain pattern. Beautifully made and finished! Also, great customer service! Quick responses to questions and great communication!

The natural wood really makes these blocks outstanding. Short of having natural stones for these artful stacks, this is the best option. All different woods too, with option to personalize blocks and packaged in a box with company logo.A list of the names of the different woods used may be a nice addition:)

This far surpassed my hopes for it. The wooden "rocks" are all sanded and waxed beautifully. There are different weights and colors of wood. This will travel well with us. I would (and might) buy this again for friends. Well worth the money.

It is costly but excellent quality and value for the money spent
