Great detail
I have so many pieces from Safari, Ltd. and I keep buying them for a reason. They have wonderful detail and as far as I can remember, no fowl order compared to some other pieces that I have tried before.

Awesome Value
It's amazing. Dinosaur toys have advanced right along with our knowledge of dinosaurs. I remember the old toys I grew up with, with upright T-Rex's, for example, walking on two legs with their tails dragging the ground, a uniform gray. We know of dinosaurs that were undiscovered when I was 7. Makes you want to be a kid again. The detail is amazing on this toy, the fearsome jaws and teeth, the coloring. It's a very solid, durable-looking toy as well, with no parts ready to snap off. It so revolutionized my son's dinosaur collection (and like any 7-year-old he's a paleontologist in training, pointing out to me that liopleurodon is NOT a dinosaur) that we had to buy him several more dinosaurs. They're all beautifully designed and painted and well worth every penny, the kind of things you wouldn't mind putting on a shelf to admire.Highly recommended and thoroughly play-tested by a 7-year-old.

Excellent Liopluerodon replica
I am an avid enthusiast of evolution and prehistoric life, pliosaurs being one of the prehistoric creatures I'm most fascinated by. I bought this figurine to use as a decoration on my desk and he looks good guarding my computer! The coloration is similar to the Liopleurodon featured in Walking With Dinosaurs. I'm extremely impressed with the quality. It feels heavy in your hand, is not hollow, and is made of a slightly rubbery plastic with a small amount of flexibility. If you are an enthusiast like me, I recommend this figurine. If you have a child who would like this as a toy, I also recommend it as it should endure a child's abuse. Just make sure you stress to your child that this pliosaur is NOT a dinosaur, but a marine reptile. Now I simply need a Leedsicthys for him to feast upon.

My grandson loves these dinosaurs. They are realistic and we also learn about each kind.

Fan-flippers-tastic!
I am buying these dinosaur era replicas for a library display I'll be doing in December 2015. The Liopleurodon is not an actual dinosaur, it is a pliosaur. It was a large carnivorous marine reptile during the middle Jurassic period. That said, I was highly pleased when I received this neat replica. It is approx. 6.5 inches long and wonderfully detailed. It's made of a hard rubber material, so the flippers will not snap off easily. Its mouth is wide open and the teeth are all set apart from each other in great detail. I really like this toy. And I think whoever wins it will like it too.

Good but not Papo
This Safari Liopleurodon is 6-1/2 " long and has a black upper surface (some reviewers say it is dark blue, but mine appears to be black) with off-white lower surfaces. The detail on the Liopleurodon is good but not as good as on Papo's dinosaurs. For example, the Liopleurodon's inner mouth has a matte finish with no ridges in the upper mouth while Papo dinosaurs have a more realistic gloss finish depicting a moist surface found in the inner mouth and has the ridges in the upper mouth. The matte-finished, textured skin surface is curious to me as I would have thought a sea-dwelling beast would have a smooth, shiny surface. The Liopleurdon was made popular in the BBC documentary series WALKING WITH DINOSAURS where it was stated that it was the largest predator that ever lived with a length of 25 meters, but more recent paleontologist opinions is that it was actually around 10 meters long.

Great for dino-crazed kids!
My 7 year-old dinosaur enthusiast, with an eye for detail, is trying to amass his own replica Jurassic World. He's not always keen on the movie-toy offerings and was looking for a convincingly frightening Mosasaurus. When he failed to find one he liked, he asked me to search for Liopleurodon. When this bad boy popped up on the screen, he was sold! It arrived quickly and was exactly what he needed to add to his playscape! It also goes in the pool and the bathtub with no damage, much to his delight! Color and attention to detail on this were precisely what he was wanted!
