For a few months, these allowed me to eat absolutely anything I want, and then they suddenly stopped helping at all. That's when I realized I have to use them in addition to a good heartburn/acid reflux friendly diet. Except on rare occassions, I avoid red sauce (like spaghetti), greasy foods, hot sauce, spicy foods, and certain acidic stuff like water flavoring (that one surprised me). I also make sure not to go too crazy with the coffee, and while observing a smarter diet, these Nexium pills work great. I have tried not using them while on a proper diet, and my acid reflux/hearburn comes back in two or three days.
