Dometic Air Distribution Box - White Air Conditioner ADB Unit - Non Ducted Unit to Use with Wall Thermostat

I used this on advent ac with thermostat had to modify for control relay box but working perfectly it’s great now have air blowing in all directions looks better also

This is the only cover I could find available for the dometic AC / Heat-pump non ducted units wall thermostat. This is expensive because it more than a cover it incudes the sheetmetal mounting base, an insulting dividing wall and the long screws that actually hold the AC unit to the roof, way more than just a replacement cover. The basic construction of the box is very rugged and is designed for moving air in 5 directions. The Filter is very difficult to remove and has an up and down when installing the media man sure it flex’s up if it lays on the dimples it reduces air flow. In our airstream it is necessary to move air to the front or the rear, those 2 control louvers are fabricated from cheap plastic with 2 small pivot pins when this pin breaks it is on the very edge and not able to repair. The louvers are supplied in a separate bag. The mounting screws are located under the louvers and are required to be bent in order to be installed and removed. I could not find a dometic replacement louver part so I stuck with $150 replacement installation Kit. A second shortcoming is the mounting of the cover under all 4 louvers there are mounting screws and a very thin piece of plastic in the front you need to be extra careful not to break this area this is where mine finally broke during the annual service cleaning of the coils. This is a great cover and I don’t understand why they didn’t uses some lager screws to attach the cover to the steel bracket. Dometic supplies sheetmetal screws to mount the cover to the coach ceiling. My experience with this cover is its prone to leaking around the filter and sucking lint into coil. Tip if you notice a loss of cooling performance with a flashlight inspect under filter the inside evaporator coil should be done.

**ONLY A COVER** Seems like a good product IF you are only looking for a replacment cover. There is NO "110 Volt" electrical box. The is NO knobs for the climate control or fan speed. I went back to check and the first photo is shown with the climate and fan speed knobs. The subsequent photos do not. (Very misleading, if you ask me)

Works, but cheaper than I expected, screws just drill onto the ceiling of van, no bracket like older, sits very proud on roof, look weird, not clear from images

Great product, could use some instructions, but once I figured it out it really worked great.

Item arrived damaged but not big portion or noticeable damage so i just put it into Rv regardless
