this air curtain is wonderful
The unit came in packaged properly. The styling is sleek and has a top grade finish. The fin for wind direction is solid and easy to adjust. The 42" model fit perfectly above our 36" door and overlapped the brick mold trim. The included instructions are easy to read. Color pictures with multiple examples of how to mount the magnetic switch. It was a hot humid day so after the unit was mounted I turned it on and was able to enjoy the air and no mosquitos while I installed the switch. We were able to converse while standing directly under the curtain because it is quiet even on the high setting. The switch has enough wire to mount it on a left or right hinged door. There are so many door styles this is where you will likely spend most of the installation time. Relax, take your time and think about where you can route the wires and hide them. The magnet for the switch is small but powerful. Mine did not actually have to touch the switch, just close was fine. You do have to splice a couple wires because everyone does not use the switch. It is easy and explained in the instructions. You will need to be prepared with mounting screws long enough to get into a stud. I use torx head screw 3" long. You will need a drill and probably a drill bit. You have to locate your frame yourself and use your drill bit to make holes in the metal bracket. Again, take your time. There are many ways to frame above a door but in many cases there is a large piece of wood across the top of the door called a header to get a framing screw into. After you get the bracket screwed to the frame you just lift it up and hook it on the bracket. This is the only time you may need a buddy to help. The unit is not extremely heavy but heavy and awkward enough to warrant help. I did it by myself but that's only because I'm a baddass.Seriously, this is wonderful. I am in mosquitoville Arkansas with rice fields and it is impossible even with a spray service to even lessen the clouds of mosquitos. We have seven different species that take turns tormenting us through the summer. When I began the installation I had to shower in bug spray and even so they were all over me just trying. They are so aggressive one got tried to bite my eyeball and got stuck in my eyelash. At the end of the install I was able to just stand with the door open and talk with my family inside. Remarkable product. Love loveThe only other thing you nee

No flies!!!
This product was very easy to install. I installed the air curtain over my back porch door where the dogs slowly go in and out, to keep flies out and the cool air in. It is quiet and does not scare the dogs yet powerful enough to throw a good air curtain on low speed (900 CFM). I like the plugged cord and the magnetic switch is by far the best to use. The unit looks good and does not look out of place inside above the porch door. The unit is reasonably priced and is well worth it. I could not ask for more. Very pleased with all; the seller, the engineering, the looks, the installation and the performance.

Keeps flying insects out
It does a great job of keeping flying insects out of the house where they belong.I installed this over my sliding patio door for this reason. Installation was not complicated as I installed it alone.I installed a 3/4 inch board to the wall behind the air curtain as a spacer to get past the door casing. The hardest part was installing a new receptacle to plug it in.The magnetic switch works perfectly turning the air curtain on as soon as the door begins to open and off when the door is closed.Since installation I have had only a few flies in the house and I believe they came in through the front or garage door.

Great piece of equipment!
Great piece of equipment! I got this to put over my back door going out to the backyard because my grandkids love to stand there with the door open and look outside or talk to me. They were letting lots of hot air and mosquitoes and other bugs inside. The air curtain effectively keeps those things out. Plus it is not noisy at all and lots of fun to stand under. Totally worth the investment!

Terrible to use
I was excited to try this hoping it would help prevent summer insects, mostly flies. It blows very little on the outside of the door where the flies are and blows extremely hard inside the door. This results in it blowing all loose sand and debris inside the door further into the house. It has a high and low setting but the problem is just as bad on the low setting. It has to do with too much air blowing inward and not enough directed outward at the entranceThe fins that control airflow are nonadjustable so there is no way to change the airflow. So this was a complete waste of money.

Nice unit, but the wiring was wrong
Nice unit, but the wiring was wrong ... the switch is backwards; high means low and low means high. And, the contact switch wiring needed to be redone. I got everything straightened out, so all good now.

Goodbye house flies!!
Dwelling in Southeast Georgia and near a farm, every year, as soon as it's warm, the flies invade my home! Installed this air curtain right before my daughter's birthday party when I knew that typically we would end up with a ton of flies in our home. We had one or two!! Worth every penny!! My husband said easy to install and I'm not losing my mind over those nasty house flies!
