10/10 smooth cranking action EDIT: BAMBOO IS FALLING APART!!!
Absolutely the best desk I've ever had. Crank works smoothly, very low effort transitions between sitting and standing. Bamboo top turned out to be pretty nice looking in person.EDIT: After owning this desk for a couple of months it is not holding up well! The bamboo top makes intermittent cracking and popping sounds and has split in several places (the strips of bamboo are coming separated from each other). Very disappointing and cheap feeling... the top is now very rough. It appears almost as if the wood top was assembled before the bamboo had fully dried or something? I'm not sure, I just know it's cracking all over the place :( Hard to see in photos, hopefully you can tell.EDIT 2: After my first edit above, the seller contacted me and offered to ship a replacement desk. Great (I thought)! They said they would pay for return shipping for the desk with the cracking bamboo top. Unfortunately, it has been a little over two months and the replacement desk was not sent to me. I've checked in again with customer service and have not heard back.EDIT 3: It's been about 6 months (?). Customer service finally followed up and shipped a replacement desk!EDIT 4: The replacement desk has the same issue. I am in a different house in a different state so I don’t think it’s a problem with room temperature/humidity or anything. Consider staying away from the bamboo in favor of another wood alternative.

Good standing desk
This is a very reasonably priced alternative to a standing desk. The unit was relatively easy to assemble, and the hand crank assembly operates smoothly. I went this route, rather than the much more expensive powered desk route, because of two reasons. First, I could literally buy two of these for about the same price as a motorized 60" standing desk, and because motors are the first thing to fail on a powered device. I am not so feeble as to need the desk motorized, though the motorized desks are probably much faster to raise and lower.Overall, the workmanship is good. The leg assembly is very sturdy, which is what I was looking for, as I have to support a heavy triple monitor stand with three 26" desktop monitors attached to it. The supporting structure for the table top distributes load well, and there is no sagging, or other sign that the desk cannot support the weight. They offer cable routing and power options, but I long ago discovered heavy duty velcro, and I just attached a velcro strip to the back of two surge bars, and mounted one left and one right onto the frame. That allows all my cables to be bundled, and only a couple of cables need to accommodate the raising and lowering function. This is a very tall standing desk. I am 6'4" tall, and at max height, it is almost too high to work at when I am standing. I actually have to lower it a bit from the top position. When I ran all the cables, I raised it to max height to make sure that the surge bar power cables had enough slack, and found that I could comfortably sit on the floor under it, with a couple of inches to spare, to tie up and route cables. This would be a good desk for anyone of any height, from about 5 feet to over 6.5 feet. It has a very wide range, and can be adjusted anywhere within the range.

Great value, solid, attractive, recommended
2015-09-15: Been using the glossy white top with charcoal metal version of this desk for a few days. I have about a year's experience with one other adjustable-height desk. And I'm computer/data scientist, so I live at my computer. A laptop with an external LCD and misc. papers and pens and a couple drink coasters live on my desk - altogether maybe 10-15lbs of weight. So far, I recommend this desk - it's a great value! Only two fairly minor issues:1) I'm 6', 0" tall. I've settled on 66 cranks to go from sitting to standing. The cranking effort is low (maybe max of 10lbs of force when raising), but I wonder if the gearing could be made coarser to reduce the required number of cranks. I'm used to a more expensive hydraulic design that raises/lowers in about 5 seconds with the press and hold of a tab beneath the tabletop, so the cranking feels like a big effort by comparison (even though it's actually less than a minute).Even so, I only do this about twice/day, and I imagine this will become less of an issue as I become more comfortable standing for longer periods of time...2) Possibly owing to the single-leg stands on each side, the desk rocks back-and-forth a bit during cranking. It definitely won't tip-over, and it's plenty stable in regular use - but if you have a beverage filled too high resting on the desk when you adjust it, you might get some splash-out. So, ensure you don't overfill, or take a sip before cranking, or keep your drink away from whatever you don't want wet. (Fortunately, this hasn't happened to me yet, but I can imagine it happening.)That's it for issues. There are higher quality adjustable desks out there, but not anywhere near this price level.Overall, the desk feels solid, is comfortable, is rollable (with two locking casters), should adapt nicely to adding a separate treadmill, and blends-in beautifully with a surrounding modern design style. It's also easy to build (although I would've split-out a couple steps for clarity), taking me a little under 2 hours. I don't build desks for a living, so for me that seems reasonable. :-)

I was delighted to find this lovely sit stand desk
OMG what can I say. I have recently moved into a new flat, so I wanted somewhere for my laptop and other devices, as well as for dining. I was delighted to find this lovely sit stand desk. It is bright shiny white, very attractive, very sturdy, and can be moved around wherever you want as it is on castors. It cranks up to a highish level so you can stand and do FB or read newspaper, or write, or whatever, which was a VERY important thing for me, as we spend way too much time sitting down. It can be cranked down to normal table level, but as I have some lovely white bar stools to go with this, it never seems to get that low.To protect the surface from scratches I have a table protector which is heat resistant, and it stays covered generally, and is used as a large desk. If I have people over for a meal then I cover that with table cloth. If I really want to show off this lovely table/desk, I will remove the covers, and put a colourful vase of flowers in the middle.............and it looks stunning! This is by far the most important item in my flat that I would NOT want to do without. I am 71, and am determined not to age by sitting around. This was amazing value for money.

Smooth Operator
The crank case spindle was a bit fiddly at first, but I was pleasantly surprised how smooth and quiet its action was when raising and lowering the table-top.I'm an old diesel fitter, so putting stuff together isn't really a challenge. The only thing that worries me is finding a cross-threaded hole, which I didn't, thank God. The instructions weren't great, so I just made doubly sure to lay the bigger parts out on a large piece of cardboard and the small stuff like bolts on tabletop before starting. Also, making sure that each threaded Allen key type bolt screws in smoothly before also laying them down in their respective positions before making a start. The trouble is, this thing is quite heavy and you may need to find something else to rest the table legs against while you 'bridge' the crank case into position. ;)

Get one! Seriously Good.....
This is a brilliant desk. Fabulous quality for the money- really sturdy and BEAUTIFUL.I only have two CONS....1 is nothing to do with the product but is a frustrating aspect of the purchasing process- TNT delivery - they were utterly rubbish - took three attempts to get it despite me booking a delivery day online2 is the fabulous gloss white desk top I have chosen. Believe me it is so beautiful BUT my cordless mouse doesn't work on it (I think another user reported this), so I have to cover the surface which kind of ruins the look. I could use a mouse mat. However, that's a bit of a design issue as I'm sure this desk is ordered by a lot of people who want it as a computer desk.Having said that, I'm not disappointed. It's great. Easy to assemble and you just feel the quality when you are putting it together. It cranks up and down nicely and doesn't feel like it is struggling at all - I think that is because the crank handle is at the side and cranks in line with the crank bar mechanism without having to make a 90 degree turn if the handle was at the front of the desk like a lot of models. The handle is also really good quality. My advice- just buy one? I have the charcoal base and white top and it looks the part!Post script- I have found out that I can buy a mouse that works on highly polished surfaces / glass - so I will get one of those and then I can reveal again my lovely glossy desktop.... so really only the delivery that was an issue..... :))some time later - have a Logitech mouse now that works brilliantly on the gloss surface so no need to cover up its beauty now.I'm totally thrilled with this desk- it's a beautiful thing and it works! I'm speechless, it is so good. Best item I've ever bought on Amazon and I've bought a LOT! :)

Incredibly sturdy desk
Firstly - I love this desk but there are a few things I would like to have known ahead of time - so if you are considering a purchase - this is for you:1) don't be concerned about sturdiness. This thing is built like a tank - as a result it weighs a tonne!2) my desk arrived in 2 separate parcels on 2 separate waggons an hour appaet - don't panic if u only receive half a desk at first!3) The desk comes with casters and feet. With the castor fitted and the desk in the lowest position the desk is still a little too high for me at 83 cm.4) regardless of the description - the desk top is not wood. It is formic a that looks like wood - and easier to care for as a result.

Sturdy standing desk
This is a high quality desk that feels sturdy and provides plenty of space.Building the desk was fairly straightforward single-handed however a second person would help, and pay attention to the screw sizes as they sometimes look similar in the documentation. I took me around an hour to do.Once build the desk has a slightly higher than normal height at its lowest point, but this could be brought down by not using the caster wheels. Full height is more than enough and I don’t typically bring it up that high (I’m 5’9), it remains sturdy at this height.Metalwork and the desktop appear to be a high quality. The desktop is thick enough for basic mounting of monitor arms etc.If you’re looking for a manual standing desk of reasonable size I would recommend you consider this.
