Alan WalkerThe Chopin Companion: Profiles of the Man and the Musician (Norton Library, N668)

These essays, each one about one of the several forms/kinds/style/genres Chopin mastered if not developed on his own, are wonderful. A caveat, though, is that they assume knowledge of the professional language used in writing about music. Each profession i.e. law, medicine, music, etc. has its own language commonly know and used for expediency by professionals. True here.
