Feather M13 Turbo SSD and Tools, macOS - m.2 NVMe PCIe Drive Upgrade for Apple MacBook Pro 2013-2015, MacBook Air 2013-2017, iMac 2013-2017 (256GB)

I have an early 2015 MacBook Air that I bought new with a 128gb SSD. It’s never been big enough as the OS takes up about half the space leaving me, on a good day, with about 40gb for file storage. I do astrophotography which generates lots of huge files during processing and my solution had been to move projects to an external drive when I wanted to work on something else and then move them back. I kept thinking about getting a new MacBook but the cost was just too much. So I decided to try this 256gb SSD drive. The price was a lot more appealing than a new MacBook! It arrived with the SSD and the 2 screwdrivers needed to install it. The company’s web site had detailed instructions on how to install the SSD from start to finish including what to do if something goes wrong. It took me about 5 minutes to install the new SSD and then about 20 minutes to restore from my Time Machine backup. Everything went smoothly and without any trouble. Now I have about 180gb of free disk space! And while I’m not 100% sure it seems like my MacBook is running faster now. This product is highly recommended!

I've only had it for about a week now, but it's a very useful item for upgrading storage capacity for listed devices. I'm always a little nervous cracking into my devices, but they provide the tools and instructions needed. ifixit.com has useful videos and pictures for the procedure as well. Performance was a little spotty at first (nothing to lose a rating star over), but downloading the regular system software updates and patches from App Store seemed to fix that and the transition from preinstalled High Sierra to Catalina was no sweat. Install all updates in Catalina and a good restart and it's good to go. Also runs Windows 10 over boot camp like a champ. Thanks Fledging!

I have the late 2013 MacBook Pro retina with the 128GB SSD in it and I had used all of my HD space. I needed to upgrade or else I'd need to buy a new Mac. Received this and did a quick time machine backup on one of my external hard drives. Installed the new Feather SSD in about 2 minutes and did a restore. BOOM! I'm back in business! It came with two screw drivers to take the star screws out. For the price I couldn't pass it up!

I have a 2014 MacMini 7,1 i5 with 8GB of ram and a 1TB platter drive. It was never very fast and sluggish to respond on Mojave. I installed this drive and now I boot in 17 seconds and it responds very quickly. If you don't already have a PCIe drive installed you'll need a PCI-e Flex Cable 821-00010-A. Make sure you get the one that comes with the screw to hold down the M13 drive!

I unfortunately did not have an opportunity to install this until after the return window had closed. I had purchased one of the same type and brand some time ago and it worked without an issue; however, this drive would not boot. I've went through all the steps I can think of, but formatted it and now it refuses to show up in Terminal.I've never seen anything quite like it. I won't be buying a third.

It made a huge difference to my MacBook Pro. There was very little storage on my laptop and I had to either move or delete my files constantly. This arrived when it was promised, was easy to install and makes using my laptop a better experience

Good product. It needs a large process to install the software if your Mac has OS Sierra or less, but the time is worth for the results. Excellent product at a good price

Drive stopped working after only 2yrs.

For 13" macbook air 2015. It worked like the original one. When booting select the Fledging SSD and go thru the step by step procedure.

So far so good. I got the item on May 15th 2020. I noticed the hard drive did not come with any thermal paste. If it last less than 3 years I'll be very disappointed and I'll be back update my review. But it fixed my problem so right not in satisfied. (Update 2021) well I said if it last less than 3yrs I'll update my review. It's now may 13th, the thing did not even last a year. I do not recommend this product
