Exactly as described, it’s a lighter that u push rather than spin w/ur thumb(much easier on the thumb as well, less blisters from continuous daily use(varies depending on ur use). Each lighter(pk of 5) lasts approx 2weeks+(I use many, many X’s/day as I smoke a pipe). I’ve ordered these lighters off/on for last several years & have NOT been disappointed yet.

The older version of Scripto electronics were a joy - easy to push. This is a new version apparently mandated by regulation to be more child proof. It is indeed child proof, and it's adult proof too. Yes, it needs to be depressed at a 45 degree angle & not straight down, BUT the force required is somewhere between unreasonable & impossible. I'm a strong 6' male & I feel like I'm about to break my thumb trying to light it. These are NOT returnable to Amazon, so beware. Unusable. I might as well have thrown $12 away. Reminds me of govt mandates for child proof caps on Rx med vials that resulted in seniors not being able to open their pill bottles. In a word, these lighters are ridiculous to try to operate.

Sorry, but the is lighter is kind of difficult to LIGHT! Thats it..good luck..cute colors, though.

These letters do work. However for arthritic fingers or fingers that are weaker. These lighters cannot be pressed down. I can work them but my wife can't work them at all. I do not have any other suggestions for anything better.

The arthritis in my hands made it difficult to use a lighter. I entered, "lighter for arthritis," in the Amazon search. Scripto popped up right away. They were right! The difference in the ease of operation was incredible! Whatever magic is used to create this should be spread around to other items. Thank you for this.
