Best under sink water fitering system.
Over the years I've had a few water filters for the kitchen faucet: PUR systems that attach to the faucet itself, Omni Under sink two stage, Whirlpool/PUR fridge filters. The Everpure H-1200 two stage system is by far the best. It is way more expensive than the rest, but the cartridges last about a year or so (depending on use). I've had the system about 8 years and I wouldn't dream of replacing it. It is so well made that if not for one of the brand stickers coming off you couldn't tell it is that old. This replacement set contains both the #1 and #2 filter cartridges. They are bound together by plastic wrap and a small box that only covers the lower 1/5th or so of the cylinders. There is a plastic cap on top of each cartridge to protect the connectors.Insider the small box you'll also find a warranty booklet and a replacement reminder alarm 'system'. Basically, it is just an Everpure branded plastic enclosure which you can stick to the side of one of the cartridges. You pull a tab to let the internal batteries make contact with the timing mechanism. Exactly one year after you do that the alarm will go off. I have no idea how it sounds since I've always just tossed them away.Whether you use the cartridge replacement 'dohickey' or not, you'll know when it is time to replace your filters when the water flow is diminished. This means that the activated carbon inside them is reaching its end of life and you are due for replacement. This will take about a year or 1000 gallons.According to the Everpure web site, this filter system removes the following from your drinking water:Lead to below the Federal Action Level of 15 ppbCysts such as Giardia lamblia, Entamoeba histolytica and Cryptosporidium parvumVolatile Organic Chemicals (VOCs), including THMsMTBEChlorine taste and odorChloramine taste and odorDirt and cloudinessMold and algaeOxidized ironOxidized manganeseOxidized sulfidesParticles 1/2 micron and larger in sizeSo, short of having a full-on reverse osmosis system (which is overkill unless you are drinking out of a mud puddle), this system will remove all of the nasties that may be in your drinking water but leave all the essential electrolytes behind.

My third install. I like this product.
Installed in previous homes. Image shows downstream hot water dispenser. There’s a trick I’ve learned over the two decades of use. Install first filter and before installing second, flush into a bucket. Then install second. When changing, just flush new #1 into existing #2 then replace #2.

Great product! Great Price!
I live out in the 'farms' in South Florida where we have well water and water softener system. I have been using this system for over 10 years and it works perfectly for my drinking water. I have it connected to a water spout at the kitchen sink as well as our fridge for the ice and cold water. This set comes with the H-1200#1 & H-1200#2 cartridges, instructions for installation, and a battery operated replacement reminder. The reminder doesn't monitor the water usage but instead will flash a light and beep after 11months (330days) to remind you to change your filters (don't forget to pull the tab before you stick it on). Remember that these filters are designed to filter 1,000gallons of water.Replacing these cartridges are easy. Just shut off your water supply to your unit (my system has a shut-off valve for each cartridge on the unit itself). Turn each cartridge to the left as much as you can (you will see a notch on the cartridge appear). Pull down to remove it (you may want to place a towel underneath the cartridges before you remove them because some water may spill out). Remove the plastic wrap and plastic cap (on top) from each cartridge. Insert the new cartridge with the notch in the same place. Turn the cartridge to the right as much as you can (you should feel it lock). After you have both new cartridges locked in turn the water supply back on to the unit. Let the water run from your output (water spout, fridge, etc.) for 7-10minutes to get the water flowing through the new cartridges and get the air out. That's it! Clean water!Note#1: In case you haven't replaced your filter in awhile....this replacement set works in place of the discontinued THM#1 & THM#2 version. They stand about 2.5inches taller than the older version(so make sure you have the room) but they replace just as easy and filter 300 more gallons of water.Note#2: This item is only the (2) 'replacement cartridges'. The system is available for purchase on Amazon:Everpure EV9282-00 H-1200 Drinking Water System.

Prop 65 WARNING
I used to buy my filters from FiltersFast.com then I switched to AMAZON because the same filter (Hopefully same) is 50% less in cost. This time before buying I noticed the CA. Prop 65 WARNING that you can be exposed to potentially harmful cancer causing chemicals in these filters. Well then why buy something that defeats the purpose of purifying my water!! ?? NOPE I will be changing companies to find a better water filter with no cancer causing issues. Just my opinion.
