HALO HLB 4 inch LED Recessed Light, Thin Canless, Dimmable, w/Selectable Color Temperatures - HLB4069FS1EMWR

I bought 7 different models across 5 different brands before choosing to buy 22 of them for my basement remodel.I ended up with these. There was one model I liked more, but they were twice the price and these happened to be on sale. So I went with #2.It's been a year or so now and I feel like I made a great choice.The light pattern/diffusion is excellent. Shadows are reduced. Since I was doing new construction (relative to drywall and all that), I also bought the mounting plates. Which made it super easy for the drywall team to get the holes exactly right. The light electrical box mounts to these. What a great system.The color temp choices are all in the desirable range. No bizarre super blue or deep orange nonsense like I saw in a few other choices. The bezels are super thing and look nearly flush against the drywall. The brightness can go very, very low. Like night light level low. Although at the 1-2% range they are not evenly bright (not each light is the same brightness). But I never put them that low. Just noting it in case you like VERRRY dim and need them to be even.I am using Lutron Caseta smart dimmers with these lights and that is working very well.

These are extremely easy to install. They have multiple lighing modes so its easy to adjust based on each room. The wiring was easy and they are great quality.

I love this light... mostlyWhat I LOVE:It is bright and perfect for above shower (rated for humid environments)It has a high Color Rendering Index (CRI >90), which means you can see colors well under this lightIt has multiple 'temperature' selections, so you can select how yellowish or blueish you want the white lightNote: Once you select the 'temperature' you want and install the light, you will need to remove the light in order to select a different 'temperature' so I encourage you to get the selection correct before you install the lightIt turns on instantly... no delayImprovements that could be made to this light (as others pointed out)1) Wish they included a small plastic connector to feed your wire from your house through the aluminum housing, which is a required piece. I had to buy a ten pack, because I couldn't buy just one at my local hardware store (see first and second photo for the black plastic part I am talking about)2) Wish they made the flange larger. It is only 6 5/8" diameter (see third photo). This means if your hole is bigger than 6 5/8" diameter in any direction, you will need to buy an additional 'Goof Ring' (yes, that is what they are called). Goof Rings are cheap if you buy them in a pack of 6. I couldn't find individual ones at my local hardware store. So again, a little bit of a pain if you are installing just a single light (unless your hole is sized perfectly).Once installed, I love this light... it really lights up the shower well!

I'm almost done with finishing the basement on my new (3-yr-old) house. The tub is in, and the tile is fixed. All I needed for that was a water-proof light fixture for the ceiling. So, when I saw this ultra-thin LED light designed for just the job that I needed it for, I ordered it.There's not a whole bunch to say about this. The box that feeds the power to the light are much more sealed than the average box that I'm used for all my other lights. There is a seal between the light rim and the ceiling with will keep water and mist out of that area. You can control the color of the LED light with five different settings and dim it down to five percent of full (with no flicker). It's easy to install with the strong spring clips that hold it in place. Those same clips allow you to easily pull down the light if you wish to change its color or for any other reason.All good features, plus it looks good when it's lit! Not that I ever expect to use it, but there is a five-year warranty on the light. Have you ever noticed that products with long warranties tend not to break? I guess that's why they can offer such a long warranty.

What I like: It's bright, you can choose between 5 different K ratings. (If you're putting it in a closet, consider using 2700K or 3000K. I used 3500K and it is a bit too bright) and the installation was relatively easy! The quick connect connectors are easy to use, just push the house's wires into the slot.What I didn't like: I'm used to using wire nuts. The pre-attached quick connect connectors are something I, as a complete beginner, was unfamiliar with. (But once I learned all I had to do was push the wire in, this was MUCH better than a wire nut!)Errata:1. I replaced an existing closet light. As such, I had to cut away part of my ceiling. This was easy enough with the provided cardboard template. Just something to be aware of. (Now I've got a mess in my closet to clean up!)2. The color temperature switch is on the outside of the J-box which makes changing the color temp easy. I've seen other recessed lights that these switches are inside the J-box.3. The J-box has punchouts. But I didn't utilize that, preferring to route the wiring through the plastic tabs. I used a flathead screwdriver to pop open the plastic tab.

Like the very shallow design of these, however the spring clamps to hold the light in the ceiling are very difficult to position and the 'snap back' if not careful is like getting your finger caught in a mouse trap. The light intensity and selection of color saturation is good. Highly recommend installing the units with the use of the Halo brackets if doing a new construction install.

Exact replacement for my kitchen light. I did need to replace the wiring junction box, not just the led light part. The box was a little bigger than the old one so easier to fit the wires in place and still fit easily back into the ceiling hole. I had not seen the type of connectors used before - you just push the stripped wire in and it locks in place. (Thank you youtube)

These are great have had no issues with dimming. I like that you can also set the kelvin tone.These were great for our remodel. However, they are slightly smaller in diameter than tradition can lights. So if you are hoping to swap out a traditional can light for these, you will have a gap.Being LED with low wattage, you can ran a whole lot of these of a single switch.

Love these lights

Decided to install one of these above the bathtub to make showering and bathing our baby a little brighter. Had no issues with a popcorn ceiling finish. It floods the entire area with light and without any dark spots. Great light, easy to install, running on 4500K that makes everything bright but not blinding. Will purchase another for the other bathroom soon.

The living room has always been pretty dark even with lamps. Decided to try these lights in a valted ceiling (popcorn finish). Only used 2 so far and what a huge difference! Floods the majoritg or the room without any shadows or dark spots. Running on 3000K, it makes the room feel nice and cozy. Really impressed with how easy it was to install these lights. Will be buying more for future projects. Also have it on a Lutron Diva dimmer switch that works flawlessly.

I brought these to replace some 3” 50 watt halogen gu10 fixtures. They were all brown and melted from the heat of the halogen bulbs. My electrician easily pulled out the old fixtures and installed these instead.I have them set at 3000k. I can’t believe the light output compared to the gu10 halogens literally double the light output.They dim really nicely with my existing smart home dimmers. I am going to have to turn down the total output as 25percent on these probably compares to 100 on the halogens. Even the brighter 60 watt halogen gu10 equivalents won’t hold a candle.

Looks good. Good Value pot light. Super easy to install according to my husband. He installed it above the bath/shower area. Only time will tell if it'll outstand the test of time. Will update later...
