Very Easy to set up and use
The printed instructions mention WEP for Wifi, but ignore that, works fine with WPA2, the app installs quickly, and set up is fast and easy. The defualt on mine was not "inching" but easy to find that setting on the app and change it. Inching is what you need for a garage door to simulate a button push for an opener. It's a on then off routine, with the time on adjustable, I used the 0.5 seconds which seem about right. For the less than $13 to make an old garage door opener a smart one is pretty good value. This also has a relay and contacts rated for 250V 10A, so can be used to control an AC appliance as well. Also, I used an old 5V cell phone chager, it was so old it was not micro USB, so I cut off the plug and stripped back the wires and used the hard wire input option, for me that worked great.

Be careful what you use it for.
I connected this to my garage door cause I did not have a remote for the opener. It works from the ewink app, Siri and Alexa. My concern is that it has opened the door without me interacting with it. Once when I was not at home, the other time was at 8:30 at night. I would not have know my garage was open and was about to go to bed and notice light coming from the laundry room door. I went back and checked the security camera and sure enough it opened the door all on its own. I have unplugged it until I can find a solution. 🤬

No instructions
My review is unfair for the reason that I'm not positive if the item works as no clear instructions were provided

Use “compatible mode” when setting up (tiny link at bottom)
This device at first is hard to setup, but that’s my own fault. I chose “quick pairing” after pressing the WiFi button for 7 seconds, expecting that I’d connect to the devices WiFi signal, but in the app it wanted me to input the WiFi I wanted the device to connect to. It seemed backwards and confusing. Then I saw the note on the instructions to use “compatible mode”, which is tiny text link at the bottom of the screen. Following the prompts, I was setup within minutes. I use this on a key fob gate control system, and it works flawlessly.

Awesome IoT for the price
The media could not be loaded. Arrived with damaged usb input port, but i managed to get the kink out. Pairing wasnt easy either but it worked out... just keep troubleshooting. Regarding the immediate on/off, you have to hold the mode button (closest to the edge) until the red is steady as one reviewer pointed out. So far so good.

Great!!
Straight to the point, this thing works great with the old garage door opener I can control it with Google Home, as well as with my phone, the only issue I had which was my own was putting in my password for the Wi-Fi my phone auto corrected and capitalized my password so it took me a while to figure out why it wouldn’t connect, like I said all my fault this unit works perfectly, can open and close my garage door from anywhere in the world with my phone combine that with a Wyze camera and I can see if my garage is open it’s great

I want to find more uses
This was actually a very easy setup. I integrated it with a timer for lighting. I want to buy more. It works great.

What to know
This product comes as default: "on" to "off" mode. In short, when you click it "on" via the app it will turn on and then off immediately. To enable the device to be one click = "on", next click = off, hold the mode mode (this is the button closest to the edge) until it is continuously illuminated. When "on" two red lights will be on. When "off" only the light near the mode button will be on.Google home users. You can link this device/account to the ewelink app. Google home sees this app as "Smart We Link" not ewelink.
