True, you have to shave off the sides of the insulation with a hobby knife to make the tap cap (light gray part) fit perfectly on thicker gauge wire, but it's worth it! The tap is super sharp and goes in easily for an excellent connection. Most importantly, the connector color blends in and is not bright yellow in your face like the other connectors on the market.

I've never used these tap connectors before, but am VERY happy with them. I've always been a bit leery of the usual clamp-down T-connectors, but these seem far less damaging to the main wire, and are re-usable! We're putting wiring for lights into our RV, and as we adjust our plans, these can be reused until we can finalize our plans. We're using with 14-gauge wire, and that's about as big as you can use in these. Very nice little devices!

I used these to install aftermarket radio along with harness in my truck. They are 2nd best to use if not soldering wires, and very easy to use.

I will never go back to the old style splice connectors. These are expensive but they work so much better than the old style connectors that I will pay the cost. I used these during a recent radio install and the install was a snap. They work each and every time and I feel confident that when I have it connected my splice is there to stay. They truly do work with a wide range of wire size as stated.

I received an assortment of these "posi lock" taps and connectors while installing a gps unit in a used car they came with the gps I had never seen them before, so needless to say wasn't sure how they were supposed to work. I am a certified Master technician I guess a little old school. The larger black posi tap was too big for the wire at the ignition switch i fought and fought to get these damn little things to work, then I looked in the bag and saw this little red one with a black cap WOW wire slide right in the slot and pierced the wire had power on the other end and everything! Its amazing how the right tools work for the right size. All in all these things work it takes a little bit to get used to but it holds the connection and you don't have to butcher the wire to tap into it like a lot of these places do when they install stereos and alarms. These might be the best wire taps I have ever handled and installed! Don’t hesitate, buy them for all of your projects! A+ product.

Best thing for tapping into 12/6 volt applications. If you install stereos or lights these are so easy to use. Great to have on hand in anyone’s garage. Expensive but worth it.

Easy to use without having to cut wires.
