A Prayer Book of Catholic Devotions

This book is a great little devotional for christians wanting to stay in touch with the liturgical year. There are prayers and devotions for use in Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, and some of the major feasts that follow Pentecost. It also includes a number of litanies and a detailed section describing different ways of praying the Rosary.The liturgy is great in many respects, but I feel that the language is a little too modern for my taste. Personally, I enjoy thees, thous, and thys in my prayer, but it's easy enough to make those adjustments on the fly. In fact, I found myself subtly modifying many of the prayers to better reflect my state of mind at the time I was speaking it.This prayer book enjoys a place on my nightstand, alongside A Catholic Book of Hours and Other Devotions (by the same author). I use it daily, and that's the highest praise I can offer.

Great gift for the devout catholic.

The book essentially contains prayers, reflections, and readings for the major celebrations of the Catholic Church: Advent, Easter and Pentecost.

Bought this for my son who is a professional baseball player for him to take with him when he is on the road. His Catholic faith is very important to him, so having this little gem means a lot to him.

It's a great book to have so many devotions in one place.

My concerns is for the quality of the materials not the written material. The book itself is a valuable resource. The composition of the material in the book is poor. The cover did not protect the pages. I bought a leather version.

A good little prayer book and a good size for church.
