Star Wars Workbook: 2nd Grade Reading (Star Wars Workbooks) Paperback – June 17, 2014

First and foremost, the book arrived not quite as described - there were ink writings on the first two pages. I contacted the seller and they responded really promptly and gave me a partial refund for the book. I'm really glad with how that worked out even though my son couldn't use those two pages.About the book: I like that it seems to build up - the earlier part of it is fairly basic, good for a K/1 student, but it builds to a more 1/2 level (more on the grade 1 side, I think). I used it as a part of our homeschooling for my Star Wars loving kid. He recognized most of the characters and loves the Clone Wars, so it was perfect for him! He is a reluctant reader though, and unfortunately even with the Star Wars theme he didn't want to read the longer passages.

All of the workbooks in this group are great my son lives Star Wars and now he gets to do schoolwork that has a theme he loves pictures are colorful and accurate for a Star Wars fan of any age the reading and writing one incorporates Star Wars into stories and grammar and the math one has u doing equations with groups of your favorite characters hes doe with the first grade level and now on second grade ones I plant to buy the third grade ones next and do on live these!!!!

I am impressed with this workbook. The first few pages started out simple, and I was very worried that it would be below a second grade level, but I quickly saw that they were reinforcing the skills before moving on to harder things.This book has a little bit of a lot of skills! Alphabetizing, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and so much more.I am so excited to include this in my daughters reading work!

I bought all the 1st and 2nd grade books for my son, he had a very, very bad year in kindergarten and now getting him motivated to do any kind of learning is very difficult. However, these books are easy for him to read and understand, he only needs a little guidance sometimes. He loves that they are Star Wars characters, and I love that he asks me if he can do his workbooks. I also took his book one step further and ripped the pages out and put them into page protectors and a 3 ring binder so that he can do the pages over and over, and I can use them for my other kids when they are ready to.

I have my son work through these books in the summer as a review of the material he learned during the previous school year. Doing one spread every day makes it last for the summer and he doesn't get overwhelmed. This particular book works a lot with reading comprehension, which is great. There is also work on grammar in the first half. I like that he gets to practice his skills from the school year so he is ready to go when the next school year starts.

Bought the set for summertime to get ready for school next year and make sure that my Little Lion doesn't forget what he had already learned last year. He was so excited when they came in he immediately wrote his name inside and started working on the first pages! He looks forward to finding out which Star Wars characters are coming up. Glad that I purchased these. He would still rather play and use his electronics, but it is no problem to get him to do his workbooks. If your kid loves Star Wars you should buy these.Doing a two page spread doesn't take too much time and keeps him in the routine of homework. Uses Star Wars theme throughout.

I bought all of the 2nd grade level books for my 7 y/o niece to take with her on a long trip overseas. She was very excited about the books and started working on them right away. She said the only problem is she hasn't been allowed to see all the Star Wars movies yet so she couldn't know some of the answers.

Great workbooks to have fun while learning, well thought out stories and concepts!!

I love this series of books they are excellent! However, this seller does NOT clearly indicate whether or not you are purchasing a new or used product. The pricing difference is so negligible that you are not tipped off, and to be blunt—I am buying these books to use with my own children and NOT to see other kids’ writing etc.

My daughter picked it up and started reading about the director and was fascinated by the facts she learned. Kids don't realize they are working on their skills because they all love Star Wars!
