You can manually select one of the four speeds to run your ceiling fan OR you can add this Lutron Caseta Smart Fan Speed Control Switch to Apple HomeKit and the then slide the slider run the fan at any percentage you want. Lutron has simply made a great device to use.The wiring was not hard, wire the green to ground first, then just wire the black hot wire (power) to the screw terminal, and the wire the white to the white wire for neutral, and then wire the hot lead wire going to the fan. It is that simple.Then add it to HomeKit.

I purchased two of these Lutron Caseta fan controls to compliment the other Lutron Caseta light switches in my house. These Lutron Caesta fan controls replaced Lutron Skylark 3-speed (SFSQ-F) controls that my builder had installed. Both the Caseta and Skylark models take up about the same amount of space inside the gangbox. The wiring is slightly more complex since the Caseta has 4 wires and the Skylark only had 3 wires which did not differentiate between load wire and power wire. Integration with he Caseta hub was easy, as was the integration with Apple Homekit (if you purchased the Caseta hub model which supports Apple Homekit) and Amazon Alexa.

Of the 4 ceiling fans at my house only 1 had the fan power wire run separately to the switch box. For that ceiling fan this controller works perfectly to allow control and automation from anywhere. Previously did not have controller so would need ladder to change speed settings. I use the caseta lighting line elsewhere so it matched the look and function of other switches throughout the house. 4 stars because Lutron products are expensive

Having worked as an electrician, these were easy to install (just like installing a switch or dimmer).They are great for adding a 3-way(with Pico) or controlling wirelessly (pico or phone app) I have over 20 of them in my house

Over priced in my opinion but does work great with app and Alexa
