Watts Premier Universal Drain Line to Garbage Disposal Adapter RO Kit

Pretty easy to install and now my sink works nicely!

Perfect little device for the job. It fit exactly as promised. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. This only works with an existing disposal. Watts offers a different version if you don't have a disposal. This device costs more than just a simple drain tap, but it makes service and testing much much easier. Example. I wanted to know if the shut off valve was working properly. Because this device uses a quick connector, it was easy to pull out the waste tube, put a bucket below, and see when system was running. Also, it makes the system quiet. Before installing this, I had a simple drain tap, I could hear the dripping when the RO system was running. Sometimes I'd forget and run around trying to figure out what was leaking. Now, I can't hear the water drain at all. Totally silent. Hence, the testing method above. The plastic is a more brittle than I expected, much more like PVC than ABS or rubber hose. It doesn't give. So, when I cut off the end, it snapped, I was afraid I'd broken it. The picture shows two clamps but mine only came with one. I don't see why two would be necessary. It is good and water tight even before I used the clamp.

The washer inlet and outlet are universal - they can be cut to fit. However, the quick connect adapter is NOT universal. This is specifically a 3/8 quick connect , and cannot be modified for 1/4 drain piping. This should be in the title. Eventually I did find the info buried in the description but it should be more clear. The material is sturdy and includes all the necessary hardware for installation, including clamps to prevent leakage. But unfortunately will need to return this for another product since It DOES NOT fit 1/4 quick connect drain lines.

You need this to install the drain line for an RO filtration system if you have a disposal and a single drain sink. Works for a dishwasher setup or without. I don’t have a dishwasher, so I cut the leg for the drain line and used it by itself. The plastic is really thick, so it may take a bit to cut through. I used a utility blade, but you could probably cut it with a saw since you don’t need 100% of the leg. I purchased this because I had tried to go into the drain line after the trap. I’ll summarize and just tell you it doesn’t work.

I wish it wasn’t as long, but it works way better than drilling a hole in the tail piece for a saddle connection. I broke that doing a reinstall on a new kitchen sink, the new sink was also a single bowl, so a saddle connection on the piece out of the disposal wasn’t a good option in the first place. They should sell the reverse osmosis filters with this thing in the first place.

It is absolutely amazing invention. I recently installed RO system under the sink and I had no space to put the outlet pipe. As per RO system, I need to drill hole in the sink outlet above the “U” stoppage. The space was tight and I was not confident enough to drill hole in running pipe. And then I found this product. It fits to the food disposal outlet and gives option for RO outlet perfectly. And you do not have to worry of making holes in the pipes. When you are doing DYI plumbing projects, you want avoid drilling holes in running pipe at any cost. Because if execution doesn’t go as planned, plumber will ripoff your pocket. So, go for it!

The reverse osmosis drain tube doesn't fit tightly into the fitting. Instead it is just pushed in until you can't push any more tube in, but you can pull it back out just as easily. I have had some water splash out of this fitting. Not sure I would do it again.

Perfect solution if you cannot access a good position for your drain saddle. Assembles quick and works great.

I was hooking up the drain of an RO to a dish washer drain. The size of the dish wash drain is smaller than what this was so I had to get a reducer. I got it from Canadian tire and is called a dishwasher drain connector. 1/2 to 3/4 in. It was simple to hookup with this and works well.

Worked like a charm. I had my Reverse osmosis filter which has a drain pipe which went inside the drian line adapter and got locked. My Dishwasher drain pipe went into the main line. I tested the funcitoning and there was absolutely no leakage from any of the line.
