Really smart
Really well made deck shoe, the leather is top quality. They take a little wearing to break them in and the sole is a little hard but again these start moulding to your foot and become comfy. They are just not as cushioned as my old ones and that's the only reason they don't get 5 stars.

Great boat shoes
Bought these for my other half for Christmas. They are lovely, exactly as described. Great fit.

As close to new as possible
Having already bought this brand of docksiders I was expecting a perfect pair when I purchased through Amazon. Shoes look as though they have been tried on many times with a crease across the whole width of each shoe. Not such a bargain after all.

seems they are not like they used to be......
Sad, as my last pair lasted 15 years (no kidding). I thought they would be like my last pair, where I could polish them, but no, my wifes and mine are like a suede finish, yet they looked like a polished finish in the photo, but they cant be maintained the same way. My previous pair could be fed with polish and be ever so supple. I cant do this with these, and they are taking ages to break-in. They should state clearly that they are SUEDE finish, which is no good for making them "friends-on-your-feet" comfortable. Unless I can get a normal leather finish, will not be buying Sebago's ever again. Sad, and like many things, change for the worst over the years to cut costs. Ours made in Dominican Republic. I tried to polish them, but it would not soak in, just left a crust on the surface, and for the very basic use of such shoes "on deck" they can't be polished. So will have to find a way to feed the leather properly. Would like to have reviewed in a more positive way, but sadly cannot. Do not recommend.

After many years of buying Sebagos, why have they made them uncomfortable?
Well made, but very uncomfortable to wear. I read other reviews saying the same, but convinced myself that they couldn't be right. They were. Sadly these will be the last ones I buy.
