Hi! Yes I did shortened it! There's a "CUT" label near at the end of one side of the collar, I pulled that side then measured it to my little girl and cut it, that's it then put it back or inserted it again! It was so easy! I hope this answer your question! Thank you!

Q: Does anyone have a solution on how to get the end you can cut, off the plastic holder...my fingers are ready to bleed and i still can't get it off?

Grab the area that charges with one hand. Grab the tubing that has the picture of scissors and gently move side to side and pull gently until tube pulls out from charging port. Cut to length and reinsert tube.

Q: What is the approximate thickness? Glow stick or IV tube or something else?

About the thickness of a pencil or drinking straw, but it is solid. It is not tubing or filled with liquid. It's sturdy.

Q: How long is the battery life?

I have had these collars for a couple of months and only charged them 3 times. I don't walk my dogs at night but we have a fenced in yard. I use them almost every night for about 30-40 minutes while they are doing their business or roaming around. I would think once a week would be good unless you are doing some serious walks. The charge lasts for a while because sometimes I forget to take them off when we go inside.
