An extraordinary tribute to art nouveau pioneer Alphonse Mucha, this deck embraces the fresh beauty of the dawning of the twentieth century along with the eternal wisdom and understanding of the tarot. This special edition contains full-bleed images and a booklet that reveals every secret hidden in the cards. The companion booklets for most Lo Scarabeo decks are in five languages: English, Spanish, French, Italian, and German. Review: Visually Appealing and Well Crafted Tarot Deck - Beautifully detailed artwork that is reminiscent of the Ethereal Visions Illuminated Tarot. Excellent card stock and perfect size for the average hand. Review: Much beautiful, Mucha-inspired artwork; great quality - Quality: Excellent. The deck I received had none of the quality-control issues a few other reviews mentioned. All cards were present and in perfect condition. The box is solid and should hold up well. Expect the substantial little book included to get battered edges and a worn spine over time if you use/remove/reinsert it regularly--it's a tight fit in the box. The lid on my box is a different hue than the box itself, which makes me wonder if there are two different colors available and they don't worry too much about which lid ends up on which box, or if it was intentional. Artwork: The majority of the cards are very nicely rendered. A few are particularly beautiful (among these: the 9 of Cups*; The Devil; The Wheel). A a few relative duds keep things in balance (the Knave of Cups, Queen of Staves & King of Swords all feel more hastily drawn than others). Note that the deck is Mucha-'inspired' and while very well illustrated, it's not illustrated by Mucha and the artwork looks a little more static and less organic than its inspiration. Just be aware you're not going to draw a card and wonder how in the world they got Mucha to paint it. Symbolism: I don't read tarot, but have read a little its history and symbolism. The cards deviate from the Rider-Waite tradition a bit, in some cases with additions and in others with removals. A few cards seem to me to incorporate more of Wirth's influence than did the Rider-Waite deck. The Fool and The Hermit have been changed from male to female (likely in keeping with the source art). This is the first tarot deck I've purchased and I don't think I could've chosen a better one. *The 9 of Cups might be my favorite art in the deck, but with the arrangement of the cups behind the damsel there's obviously a tenth cup... or a block of wood... or _something_ holding them up. Like I said, I don't read tarot and this is my first deck anyway, so I guess only the cups you can see are supposed to count... even if you know there's another one there, lurking just out of sight.

Beautiful quality deck!
Sturdy cardstock and vibrant colors. The elements of the suits are represented nicely. Pentacles and wands lean more autumn and have warm colors. Swords and cups have cool tones, and bright skies. Important imagery is still present. The booklet can be tricky though if you rely on it. It doesnt say "4 of wands" "5 of wands." It says wands, and then the following pages only say 4, 5, knight, etc. so it can be a little difficult finding the right page. On the flipside though, the booklet itself is beautiful, printed in color with a parchment style. Most decks just throw in a cheap paper booklet, but not this one! Highly recommend this deck. Beginner friendly, with few creative liberties. From the framing, to the art style, and even the booklet, it's a stunning deck.

I wish I could give 4.5! Still, this deck is beautiful.
I ordered my copy a few months ago, the art is absolutely gorgeous and I don't regret buying the deck, however, I agree with the reviews that mention the faulty printing, one or two of my cards have a funny indentation on them but it's so light you can barely notice (I just took a pic of them all and I can't even remember which one it was, so like I said, not that bad). It comes in a beautiful and sturdy box along with a little (and pretty thick) book inside with some insights (I see some people complaining about the font size, to be honest, I rarely use the booklets and I don’t really see a problem with them because it’s more of an extra rather than a tool for me). To clear things out, NO, IT’S NOT Mucha’s art as tarot (again, addressing other reviews), this is a tarot deck inspired and drawn in a Mucha style, the card stock is fairly thick and glossy, I would love it even more if it had gilded edges (not crazy about the white visible sides considering the rest of the cards have a parchment-like colouring). If you do reverses, this may not be the deck for you or you may just dislike the fact that the backside shows clearly what position the card is in (again, I don’t have a problem with that because I don’t use them in my readings). I would say it's got a lot in common with the RWS, however I found some of the cards (Judgment, for example) a bit scary because of the details in the faces (that angel looks pretty pissed if you ask me!), the art features both male and female but it’s clear to see it has more on the female side. This deck has vibrant colouring but not as much as to make it hard on the eyes, everything flows together, I absolutely love the fact that they don't have any lettering on them, only numbers (roman numerals for Major Arcana and regular ones for Minor Arcana), even the borders around every picture are beautiful!, the images speak by themselves clearly enough to know to what suit they belong to and which one are the courts (personally I dislike those decks with tags in more than one language, so I find the lack of text to be pretty attractive). If you do decide to get this, I hope they have fixed that faulty printing or whatever it is that’s making the decks tear or miss parts. I am including a few pictures, so you can look at the art and decide whether this is for you or not! Like another reviewer, I too got myself a Baba Studio tarot bag (Zodiac is my favourite piece!) to make my deck even more special (in my eyes at least :D).

Amazingly gorgeous
I fell in 2 of cups the moment i saw them. I had to have them. They did not disappoint... the art is some of the best ive seen. Def gonna be a fave deck. I will say the finish makes them hard to shuffle but i put mine in sleeves and they slide much easier that way, so its not a problem for me. Def a must have deck.

Love Mucha cards, beautiful art works but... and updated, and new update
Let me start by saying I really love this cards and the book, I love and appreciate the quality of deck and the details in the art work. I love famine energy this deck carry totally in love with it . At first I was debating get this deck specially after reading the reviews but I get anway and I am glad, I did because of the beautiful art work and I connected to the images more than the other decks. Unfortunately, the deck has some problems as you see the temperance and the chariot have minor color problem and some cards have lighter back than other and the box laid doesn’t close probably. I bought last October for $21 and I was waiting to decide before reviewing it. I give it 4 stars. I wishe I can give it 4.5 or more but due to some issues I decided on 4. I included few pictures for deck. Overall I really like the energy coming from it. I need to add that the book is good. Update:- Because this cards are so pretty; I get another deck to gifted to my friend. I didn’t want to open but I am glad I did because I get double nine of swords and missing the eight of swords. I am so disappointed, I wish the company will fix those problems. Also the new deck have the same issue I mentioned. I have to take star away and it is sad Because these card are so pretty. Update— April 5-2019 After debate, I finally decided to purchase an extra copy to save for myself in case the Mucha cards went out of print , because to be honest I only use Art Nouveau deck, So I decided to try again... So I received My Mucha card on the 5 of April , so I immediately went through the cards to check for any missed cards or duplicate, the deck was perfect. This is the exciting news, the new Mucha deck has better deep coloring on it, and I love it, I add photo of the justice card and you can see the one on the right is new card. Also the new Mucha didn’t have any of the problems like my previous deck in, temperature card and chariot card are perfect and good no Defect. So I add one star to the Mucha deck. Honestly if you like RWS system but you don’t like the art in the other cards this the best deck for you. I really recommend. Good luck with ordering

Outstanding, beautiful, intuitive
Received my Mucha deck today and I couldn't be more pleased. First Impressions: -the box arrived in a substantially strong and attractive laminated hard pressed cardboard box. The lid slides off and on so you never have to unfold it and wear out the box lid. -the instructional book fits inside the box and is the same size as the cards. It includes several languages. My only wish would be for bigger text and potentially more info but that would be difficult to fit into this box set and keep everything a reasonable size. There are no reversal interpretations for the card descriptions. -the art is simply gorgeous. Every image is high quality and full of information to be intuitively gathered along with the obvious symbolism. Each of the suit cards is numbered. The suits all have scrolling attractive vining borders in the color tone corresponding to it's element such as reds for the Staves (wands) which is fire. This is a nice subtle indicator to tell you what you're looking at quickly. Each suit also shows a symbol at the bottom of the suit such as a sword or cup. This can be seen in the pictures provided with this review. There are no obnoxious water marks or copyrighting on the images. The cards are a nice size (I included a picture of a card with my hand to show size, my hands are somewhat large for a woman). The card stock is good quality and the shiny cards slide easily against each other. When I took the cards out of the box I first looked at them and tried figuring out the meanings myself from the images rather than jumping straight to the booklet. I found my interpretations were very close to the booklet descriptions and that tells me these cards are a good fit for me and are easier to read with clear symbolism and nuances for the attentive eye. They also feel really good to me energetically and spiritually. I cannot wait to use them. I hope this review has been helpful along with the pictures I provided. Please keep in mind the images are much clearer and even more attractive than my camera phone can show. My phone tends to make these look slightly less clear and detailed than they actually are. I very highly recommend this deck.

TAROT MUCHA

Amazing and Underrated, Definitely Recommend!
This deck is super underrated but I am so happy I found it! Definitely one of my favourites and I have quite a few. I have always been attracted to art nouveau style tarot decks but the coloration on most wasn’t connecting to me. But this deck is perfect. It’s colourful and vibrant without being too much and keeps within the vintage vibe. It’s very warm, inviting and romantic. The images are based off of RWS tarot with slight differences. One of the biggest differences is the addition of females. It can be argued that it is a more feminine deck but if you are appreciative of this style of art that shouldn’t matter. There are slight boarders but it’s so beautifully done even if you don’t like boarders this shouldn’t be a bother. The card stock is good - thick enough but not too thick where it isn’t at all flexible. It is easy to shuffle and gives a great read. Definitely recommend!
