Best book I have ever read
Han Nolan delivers a unique and memorial read. I read this as a child and I have yet to fall in love with another book as much as I did this one.

One of the best books I've ever read
This book made me so happy, so grateful... I cannot even begin to describe. Read it. I recommend this book to anyone who has ever wondered about the Holocaust, or anyone who just wants to read a book that will pull you in and make you want more. I hope this has influenced you to buy this spectacular book

Great read
Wonderful book. Very thought provoking. I gave the book 4 stars because I felt the book was a little unfinished. I would have liked to have seen more of an epiphany at the end.

I liked it and has some really good things on life in a camp during world war 2 very interesting and intense. Would make a great
I like how it's mostly correct and it's a beautiful book on the war and how it was to be a Jewish family fighting to stay alive.

Superb!
I thoroughly enjoy this book each time I read it because it gives a different perspective of what happened during World War 2 and the Holocaust. I also love the time traveling and the impact Chana had on the main character. I simply love this book!

Amazingly Intense with a twist
Wow, another couldn't put down! To be in the shoes of Chana or Hilary, to go through all of that loss, to be defeated and hated but to come out a strong women of value with a faith that is as strong after the war as before...that's amazing! And so many survivors did exactly that, kept their hope, faith and will to survive and tell the world of horrible unforgivable hard to believe truth.Excellent and overwhelming book.Han Nolan, thank you for being a writer! You have a talent and I can't wait to read more!!

Good writing, bad rip off.
I bought this book in 2013. I did like it at the time. It's very well written and I really feel connected to the characters. The only issue is it completely an utterly rips off another book which was written years earlier called the devil's arithmetic. The plotline is the same (character from the modern day is transported back to Nazi Germany), the names of all the characters are similar with one or two letters different, and some basic sub plots are copied, such as a Jewish ritual being held in the barracks. I think it's okay and even good to take inspiration from earlier books but to have basically the same events and even names of the other characters of the earlier book? Unacceptable.

I don't like it.
I read two books about the same subject (the Holocaust) within two weeks of each other. I couldn't get to grips with this one because firstly we were introduced to one person then another person took over and I lost track. (See the book was so interesting I couldn't remember their names).Sorry folks, but I didn't finish the book for the reasons given above

ENLIGHTENING
I enjoyed this book as The Holocaust was written from a very unusual angle. Everybody should LEARN AND KNOW about the Holocaust and it should never be forgotten.A well written and thought-provoking subject.
