Batman Beyond (2016-) Vol. 1: Escaping the Grave

Absolutely love this! So much better then Tom King's Batman run in my opinion. This follows Terry Mguinnis (think I spelled that right) as a future batman who is mentored by a much older and battle harderned Bruce Wayne. Dan Jurgens has done a terrific job with lots of twist and turns and of course action. It is also very interesting to see what has happened to other characters in the batman universe and where they have ended up. This is up there with Green Lantern as my favourites in the rebirth line.

I've never read any Batman Beyond before this. I've seen the character in games but this started off with me thinking "Bruce Wayne isn't Batman. Ridiculous!" to me thinking " Ahh that's why... " then getting lost in the book. It portrayed characters really well, the storyline was great and the art was just as good. I didn't know what to expect with Batman Beyond and it hasn't dissapointed. Another brilliant Batman graphic novel!!

Excellent reboot of an amazing character!

I turned my back on BB when Tim Drake took over the role. This book puts Terry McGinnis back in the suit and in brilliant fashion. He reflects on being out of practice while coping without his mentor. This book features excellent twists and depth through the the story. The artwork is great, apart from the new suit.... It needs toning down a little in the eyes. Otherwise a must buy.

Great comic

Not a bad start, but once again DC plays fast and loose with its own continuity, especially in the portrayal of Dana.

As a fan of the batman beyond cartoon I wanted to see how rebirth handled the character Good story nice adventure. Nice price as well

I really like what the author did with the origin story and the use of supporting characters in this novel. You get to see a lot more involvement from some other characters that help develop this story and support Terry in his journey as the Batman in an even better way than they did in the animated series which for me, made this reboot even better.

Batman Beyond Vol.1: Escaping the Grave ist einer dieser Comics, mit denen man anfängt und dann irgendwann feststellt, dass man nur noch lustlost durch die Seiten blättert. Eine ziemlich lahme Geschichte, teilweise völlig überzogene Action und eine völlig blasse Hauptfigur haben mir nur wenig Freude bereitet. Auch wenn die Grundidee, die Machenschaften des Jokers in der Zukunft beinahe kultartig wiederzubeleben zwar ganz nett ist, scheitert die Umsetzung dann doch an einer viel zu langatmigen und teilweise unglaubwürdigen Erzählweise. Auch wenn die optische Verpackung der Geschichte ganz nett ist, werde ich die Reihe sicherlich nicht weiterverfolgen.
