## Overview

Fireside Hardwoods Kindling Firestarter is a 10-pound box of 100% natural, kiln-dried hardwoods sourced from the USA. Designed to burn hot and clean with minimal resin, it’s the perfect choice for those who value quality and eco-friendliness in their fire-starting needs.

## Description

10/lb. Box of hardwood kindling is made from 100% recycled material. The kindling is a byproduct from our moulding and hardwood flooring plant. This product is kiln dried to 6%-9% therefore it burns hot and fast to get your fire started and creates a good base of coals to keep your logs burning. Species may include: Red Oak, White Oak, Poplar, Maple, Walnut, Hickory, etc. However, it is mostly White Oak and Red Oak. Our wood burns clean, it’s not like pine based wood which may loaded with sap and produce a lot of soot. We don’t use light weight woods like cedar. Hardwoods make the best firewood. Cedar can pop as it burns and can throw out sparks so be sure to have a screen or doors in place as you burn. Cedar is not as dense as hardwoods so it burns too fast and will not build up a base of ashes like hardwoods. The pieces are random in size but are mostly ½ x 1” x 11.5 long. There may be a small variance in weight depending on the mix of hardwood species in the box.

Not sure if I will look for a cheaper source for pizza oven or keep buying these, but being that they're rectangular and not round, they ignite easy and burn well for high heat for a pizza oven.
