Good coffee, next to no mess, small footprint, stylish design and not too expensive. Recommended.
I’ve tried every domestic coffee-making system in existence. Moka Express, cafétiere, Aeropress, drip-filter, vacuum systems, as well as small espresso machines from Gaggia and (most stylishly) a Europiccola from Pavoni. They all make fine coffee with varying degrees of manual intervention.Objecting to the level of waste from a Nespresso system I scoured the reviews and, influenced by a positive review from the U.K. based Good Housekeeping Institute, I opted for this machine.I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks and it just works. It’s a wee bit noisy, but less so than my standalone Gaggia grinder. It makes virtually no mess, just a bit of dry grounds when dismantled for routing cleaning. The cleaning is negligible, compared to any other “proper” espresso machine I’ve ever used. And the coffee? Great. It’s very revealing of the quality of the beans and the roast, but that’s good. I’ve already rejected some espresso beans I bought freshly roasted from a hipster coffee shop in Lisbon and reverted to top quality stuff from one of the I nternational supermarkets that surround us.Ordered from the U.K., delivered to my door in Portugal one week later. Excellent service.Recommended.

Great Expresso machine
Wanted Expresso machine straight from beans. Don't like the pod machines as they are a rip off and not very environmentally friendly. This was £179 so not a ridiculous price. Firstly, it was the besk packed appliance I have ever received, very well padded and easy to get out of box.It is very easy to use and clean, and makes great Expresso. If you want a milky coffee just microwave some milk and add the expresso- fab. Good crema on the top of the coffee. I have set the grind to max so I get strong coffee. As long as it doesn't break in the near future, I would recommend this machine if like me that is what you want. It seems very well made and good quality too.

Great design great value
Amazing bean to cup machine. Clever design with exceptional tolerances means it take up little space. It produces a better espresso than my DeLonghi Magnifica - probably because it knocks out 19 rather than 15 bar like most of the competition. More than happy.

Wow - seems almost too good!
I've been using Nespresso pods for many years. Even though I took advantage of the door stop pick up for recycling the pods, its always been true that nothing is better than not using or manufacturing the pods in the first place, so a bean to cup solution will always be the most ecological choice you can make if you are going to brew coffee.Last time I looked at such solutions they were very expensive and a lot of 'faffing' to get a decent coffee made.Enter the Slimissimo, and everything is different. The machine itself is compact and very sleek with every moving part feeling like you have bought a quality product. The unit could not be any easier to set up and use - add water, add coffee beans, press button.I've been very impressed with the quality of the coffee made too - the 19 bar pressure ensures you get a decent crema from your coffee bean and the taste is full and rich with that 'just ground' freshness.Overall, I have been delighted with this product so far and give it my heartiest recommendations.Should I experience any issues within its lifetime, I will update this review.P.S. Should you need one that also dispenses milk, the company have models that do that too, though for home use it makes sense to me to have a separate frother if you need that (less to break on your machine and more control).

A decent cup of expresso with minimal waste
This is a compact, good-looking machine which I strongly suspect is related to the similarly-priced Beko. It's incredibly easy to set up and maintain; cleaning is a complete doddle. The machine makes expresso and lungo, and that's it.There are a couple of things to note: (1) the grinder is adjustable - I ended up with it on its finest setting, and it hasn't moved from there; (2) the temperature can be a bit lacking, especially if you make a coffee soon after switching on, but planning ahead (or warming cups) deals with that; (3) some of the sensors are a bit oddly programmed, so for example a cup of coffee can stop pouring halfway through and "add water" can light up (very easy to do, doesn't affect taste) and the bean hopper doesn't seem to know whether it's full (I just check manually). For the money, I think this is an excellent investment. If you think of it as competing with pod machines but without the eco-crime, you have a good idea of what you're getting - the coffee it makes is easily the equal of pod coffee (I can't speak for bean-to-cup machines that cost four times as much, but let's just say the coffee is plenty good enough), and of course there's loads more choice; and as a bonus, it's no more difficult to clean than a pod machine either.
