Americolor Powder Food Color, 3gm, Black

I've always had problems getting the right black for my icings. This totally solved the problem and is very easy to use. I think it is much better than gel colors for black. I have not found any taste at all.

Big tip: it will look purple when you mix it. let it sit over night. it darkens up.I used this for tires on my twin's lightening mcqueen cake. it went over great and didn't stain.

anything Americolor is a fantastic product, they never disappoint.

Used to make a black icing for a birthday cake. Ended up using gel food coloring along with it because it didn’t get dark enough. Not sure I’ll buy again

I read that powdered black coloring was so wonderful. It was terrible. I let it set overnight and it was still light grey. I will stick to liquid. I used the whole container for a very small amount of icing and still light grey. Don’t waste your money. Buy liquid.

Got the black and used on fondant. Came out perfectly

I don't love the smell of this and it clumped badly. It did nothing to change the color for chocolate to black. I had to still use my black gel food coloring. I could have used the entire container and it wouldn't have been black. Very disappointed with this.

As many other reviewers posted, it does look purple; however, it does make black frosting. It does take almost the entire bottle for one batch of black frosting which is too expensive!!
