Q: how many thickness settings does the roller have

Ours has 8 thickness settings. And we love that thing, too. If you're interested, we've hand-made pasta for 25 years or so... rolled it in a hand-cranked machine. We always got very good results. This is MUCH easier, and we also used the mixer to start the dough kneading process. Between the two, it was faster, easier, and we got pasta that was every bit as good as the best we ever made by hand. Good luck... enjoy... Doug in Niceville, FL
