This wide, heavy pillow made it possible to sleep through my kid's flailing arms and legs (she was a wild sleeper) and still give her the comfort of mom's bed and closeness. It's a complete game changer for an anxious child. However, I would recommend having a king-sized bed as this is a big pillow.

Why Bessie? Because she's big and heavy, like a cow, but also very soft and comforting, also like a cow.This pillow has become so integral to my physical and mental well being that I literally named it. I sleep so much better with Bessie by my side, which translates into feeling so much better physically and mentally. My brother introduced me to Bessie, so I kept him updated the first few nights after Bessie arrived:Bessie Pillow, Night 1, Sleeper's Log: Bessie is stout and hefty, but this adds to her comfort rather than detracts. Sleeper issued several audible, reflexive sighs when settling in. Turning over with Bessie is a bit of a challenge, as is maintaining sheet and blanket coverage. Bessie increases sleep temperature; will have to consider cooling techniques. Sleeper's muscle memory must be retrained to account for Bessie's extended length and overall support. Sleeper experience less hip and lower back pain in the a.m.; attributes this to better spinal alignment due to Bessie's support. Overall opinion from Sleeper is that Bessie and Sleeper will be great friends.Bessie Pillow, Night 2, Sleeper's Log: Reduced bedding by one blanket, alleviating issues with both heat and Bessie maneuverability. Muscle memory reprogramming continues; Sleeper's body learning it is not necessary to pull knees up to chest anymore. Sleeper intrigued by potential to be the center of a cosy sandwich between Bessie and Co-Sleeper. Will run first Cosy Sandwich test on Night 3. Male feline has discovered Bessie is a friend and has partaken in Bessie's comfort. Female feline still showing signs of distrust and distain with Bessie. Sleeper's lower back showed further improvement after Night 2 with Bessie, and Sleeper experienced no immediate hip pain upon morning rise. Sleeper went to bed earlier on Night 2, fell asleep faster, and maintained longer stretches of sleep. Sleeper wondering if Bessie is miracle pillow. More research required.I didn't send any more updates after the second night, because no more were needed. Bessie is a miracle and is now part of the bedscape. Husband has accepted Bessie's place in our relationship. Life is better with Bessie.

This is a very heavy pillow. But it holds its shape, is comfortable, and gives great support. This is my 3rd pillow. I will eventually learn to put a waterproof cover on them to puppy proof them.

Edit 1/27/15: this pillow is still my main pillow and I still love it. The pillow has held up very well over time including quite a few washes (with the core removed.) The pillow case is still super soft even after I dyed it purple because white and I don't get along. I actually wish I could find sheets exactly the same. My only real complaint is how heavy the pillow is. Due to my medical issues I have had to change how I sleep and a huge heavy pillow is hard on me. I actually ordered a Comfort U pillow yesterday to replace this one though that had nothing to do with the pillow itself. My daughter is planning to "adopt" this pillow as soon as my new one arrives. Overall my positive review still stands and if weight were not an issue I would buy it again. I do believe we weighed the pillow at roughly 10lbs.I have had this pillow on my wishlist for ages so I was very pleased to finally be able to afford to buy it. It only just arrived, and I'm already in love. Since I'm down with the flu, I had the perfect excuse to get into bed and test it out and I have not been disappointed. I will edit later if my opinion changes, but as of now this is hands down the best body pillow I have ever owned.This pillow is heavy, as others have said its probably about 10lbs. It's also a large body pillow, but it's not excessively large or cumbersome. Its a two piece pillow with an outer fluffy "shell" of poly fill type stuff, and inner "core" of memory foam fluff. The outer part is machine washable after you remove the inner core. The fabric covering the pillow is amazingly soft and silky as is the pillow case it comes with.When this pillow arrived I did not smell anything from it. The pillow was folded in half inside its plastic packaging, and at first I was alarmed to notice that there were hard spots, flat spots, and soft spots and no uniformity. I quickly noticed the zipper, opened it up and pulled out the inner core. I spent about 5 minutes fluffing and then put the core back in, added the pillow case, and it was perfect.All in all I have no regrets. I have never spent 45.00 on a pillow before and I was concerned that I would regret the expense. I am very pleased to say that I feel that this pillow was worth every penny spent on it. As an added bonus, it came in a huge box (I ordered a pressure cooker at the same time) and my three kids are having a blast with that box right now which is totally giving me a chance to relax and enjoy my new pillow. It's a win win, for sure.

This is a very good pillow, comfortable and cozy! It is long and wide enough. I just wish it was a bit lighter, but I'm not sure given the material, it could be lighter.

This pillow is nice and long and very comfortable although it is a little heavy to maneuver when switching sides. Other than that, it supports my body very well and the cover makes it feel softer and more luxurious. Love it!

Great quality pillow, does not loose its shape, a little heavy thaugh, my husband had to get used to it, its like having a third person in bed with us, but my back aches are waaay better, awesome product!
