Nesco BG-88PR Burr Mill coffee grinder

This works OK but is messy...coffee powder/grounds fly all over when you open the 'drawer' to remove the coffee. Sometimes the beans will get stuck in the burrs and stop the process. You need to grind on coarse to avoid this problem...other than that it does the job.

Seriously, I think this is about the lowest average I've seen on an Amazon item with more than a couple of reviews. Does anyone still buy this?I was actually, lucky, I bought mine for $6 as a used Amazon warehouse deal. I ground stuff for two years before it died. Sure it was fussy and messy, and the double curved grind holder assured that some grinds would always pour onto the counter, but for $6? There is a catch, though. Most other reviewers paid a lot more than $6, and even I paid some extra. Mine didn't actually die, but tonight I found there were some grinds coming out of the bottom of the grinder. I opened, which is no easy task, and only half of it is able to be opened. About $10 worth of expensive ground stuff (I grind all sorts of things) poured out of the motor compartment.So for those who wonder why yours died so fast, it apparently taxes every grind by taking some to feed the motor!Seriously, if anyone buys this thing, they get what they deserve. I can't believe anyone still stocks it! What an embarrassment for Nesco!

I use it weekly and grind enough for the whole week's morning cup of coffee. don't know how it would be for family that uses it alot

DON'T BUY THIS PIECE OF CRAP! I received my grinder in early August 2 weeks later it stopped grinding. I sent it back for warranty repair (cost me $9) in two weeks I got it back. A week and half later the repaired unit failed. I called Nesco to complain. They said they would send a replacement unit. I received the unit and within a week that one failed! That made 3 of them. I was so fed up I didn't look for a fourth one. I just pitched it in the trash and considered it a $40 lesson in "you get what you pay for". DON'T BUY THIS PIECE OF CRAP! PS When it worked it was not good. Very hard to remove the grounds with out making a mess. Machine could not deliver a satisfactory course grind. If it was an option I would give this a negative star!

I bought this as a gift and had a chance to use it. This is a nice product that works just like it says. I wish I had bought one for myself!

Very messy, hard to get grounds out of the container, have to constantly shake the grinder to get beans to fall into the grinding area, and the amount of the grounds is very inconsistent.
