I already had two of the flannel versions of these, and wanted two lighter weight ones because I live in sunny Florida. I also love that these are made in America, I try very hard not to buy things made in China because you just do not know what you are really getting. The weight of these are perfect, if it's a bit cooler I layer another blanket on inside of this before swaddling the baby in it. My little one loves to be swaddled. These are quite a bit bigger than the flannel version, but works in just the same manner. It's kind of a muslin/linen feeling to it, and it washes and dries perfectly. The swaddler is also a great cover up for when you are breast feeding in public, keeps you covered without over heating the baby. I bought two of these and would buy them again and again.ADDED A FEW WEEKS LATER: I assumed incorrectly that these are made in the USA like the flannel ones. They ARE NOT. They are made in China which greatly disappointed me. I took a star away for that reason. I really wish Amazon would start listing what country things are made in.

This lightweight swaddle is great if you live in a hot climate or if your baby is born in the summer. (The word "blanket" in the item's name is misleading... I'd call it a wrap instead.) The fabric has a loose, airy weave that is almost mesh-like but not quite. It is fairly soft (not super-soft) and has a tiny bit of stretchiness to it that helps when you're swaddling.46 inches square, the swaddle is large enough that you can wrap it securely around your newborn (that is, securely enough that you don't worry it will come undone) without having concerns that that he or she will overheat. The little sewn-on tag with swaddling instructions is a nice touch.Other uses: this swaddle is big enough that you can drape it over a stroller (use clips to secure it) to create a breathable canopy. It also works as a cover-up when you're nursing.

I bought this blanket because of good reviews. I needed a very light summer covering because my grandson gets very hot during naps. He also puts his blanket over his head,and this blanket sounded perfect for ventilation.Well, this blanket was somewhat silky right out of the package. But,after washing it was a horrible wrinkled mess and the material was so coarse the baby cried as soon as it touched his skin. Wish I could get my money back.Update of review above- blanket did soften over time, and grandson likes it now that he's 2 and not so skin sensitive. It's held up well over time.PS - I found that a good lightweight covering for summer can be made from taking the side & bottom seam out of a king-size pillowcase and hemming the edges. I never could find a very lightweight covering to buy for a very small child!!

I loved the Hedgehog swaddler by this same company. It is the softest swaddler and so cute. This Marquisette is not the same — a bit rougher compared to the hedgehog one, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

I gave this a 1/5 because it wasn't what I expected. The material is like a gauze weight - completely see through and a little scratchy. I'll keep this for swaddling my Texas baby in July and August, but if you are looking for something very light weight, this is for you. I bought the flannel blanket and this one just to test them out before I order more. The flannel is much heavier, much nicer, very soft. Just depends what you are looking for. But the size of these blankets can't be beat. My two year old sleeps with the flannel ones at night and it is just big enough to cover his shoulders to his feet.

This is a lightweight blanket that's for hotter climates. However, I find the Aden and Anais swaddle muslin wrap is better. Compared to the Aden and Anais, this swaddling blanket is not as soft or stretchy.

I have a very long baby so most of the receiving blankets I have didn't even come close to swaddling him. This blanket is HUGE and plenty big enough for my "big" baby. I really like this blanket because it is so lightweight which is great for the warm weather. My son is just starting to be able to sleep with his arms out but when he has a difficult night I can wrap him up and not worry that he is too warm. This has been a great purchase so far!

This blanket gets softer the more it is washed. We have 2 as my son loves them and thinking of ordering a third. It is a thin, soft blanket that has held up through many washes plus being drug through parking lots, stepped on, and has had food spilled on it that washed out with no effort. We used it initially as a summer swaddling blanket when my boy was an infant, but now that my son is 19 months it has become his "blankie".
