I used these for alpine skiing last Winter, where the temperatures never got below 20F, and my fingers were not kept as warm as I thought the Reviews, spoke about. I had to put my 5 fingers in a ball, a few times, going up the lift chairs, to keep all fingers warm. I ski aggressively, so it was not like I was napping on the descents....Overall - well-made mitten gloves that do keep you warmer than 5-finger gloves, but for the money, I will try battery heated gloves to bicycle and ski, this Winter, and hope at this price-point, No more cold fingers!?

My fingers get painfully cold when I ski so I decided to go high-end with the Hestra mittens and end the suffering. They are amazing at keeping you warm, but like any mitts, lack dexterity. It's a trade off.Important note: These do run small IMO. I wear a large in most gloves and using Hestra's fit guide, I should be a 9. I order the 9 and they were way too short. I exchanged them for a 10 and they fit well in the length, but were ridiculously wide. I stuck with them anyway and went to Whistler. Halfway through the trip, the seam of one of the liners ripped. I ordered a new pair of 10s as a replacement and the ones that came were a full 1/4" less in width. This is not an exaggeration. I measured seam to seam on the leather palm and it had a 1/4" variation in width from one pair to the other. Basically, if you get a pair that fits oddly, dont assume another pair will have the same fit. In the end, I love the mittens, but it was a painful process getting a pair that was sized/fit correctly.

This is my second pair of Hestra's. First are still good and wearable, but wanted a new pair for the warmth. I ski powder and the extra length really keeps the hands dry. You will never get a better pair of ski gloves

They really aren’t much warmer than any other mitts I’ve used for skiing, walking or shoveling in the cold. Not sure I’d spend that much on them again. But it’s nice to be able to pull the warm lining out to wash and or dry them. Mittens are sturdy. The white leather gets dirty quickly but that doesn’t bother me. Pictures are after being used the whole ski season here in buffalo ny.

Really warm. Love them. I use them for skiing and took a little time to get used to mittens as I have always had gloves before. I suffer from Raynauds and these are way warmer than any gloves I have had. Top quality and lots of useful features. Wrist straps are a mixed blessing - fantastic on the chair lift as you can't drop them by mistake when you take them off, but the gloves dangle and get in the way of you are caught short and have to make yellow snow!!??
