Very nice smapp speakets
Setting: Relatively small den (14' X 20') recently upgraded and decorated, laced with bookshelves. A Denon 5.1 receiver serves as the workhorse...four TL2's and a Polk PSW110 woofer(cherry cabinet) finish the job. A TV is not associated with this Audio center. That system is in a larger den. The shelves are loaded with, well, books and prized plates, vases, pictures, etc. Much like another reviewer, my lovely spouse loves music, but absolutely refuses to allow refrigerator size speakers in the bookcases, plus white only, please. So, after shopping around I decided to try these to replace some rather large black JBL's that were perfectly fine, in my humble opinion. I have two TL2's as front speakers and two for the rear...plus the woofer (which hides timidly in a corner), of course. BTW, I am not a big fan of Bose, even if the cubes are "cute", as my spouse describes them.Polk got it right with these speakers. The high and mid-range quality is excellent and well-balanced. There's even a very decent hint of bass too. A center channel speaker was not necessary. The sound is crisp, yet has tremendous character at virtually any volume setting. They work beautifully for quiet background music, but crank up nicely to overcome the habitual noise of a party in progress. I strongly recommend they be mated with a woofer to handle the latter duties. The speaker cabinets are handsome, small and the platform quality is outstanding. In fact, the little quys are quite heavy for their size.So, the spouse is a very happy camper, which certainly makes my life a bit easier as well. The Polk setup doesn't compromise my need and appreciation for rich and properly balanced sound. The TL2's and 10" woofer do the job, hands down...and at a fairly reasonable price. I highly recommend these speakers if your A/V needs are similar to mine.

TL2 = Peacemaker
In my household, there are three things that determine the rating of a speaker:1. The Quality of the Speaker: Polk put together a pretty good package here. The TL2 makes excellent rear surrounds for a 5.1 or 7.1 system. I first bought them to replace my front left and right channels, but didn't feel that they carried the front well enough. Moved them to the back and ordered two TL3s for the front channels. My living room is rather inconveniently shaped (acoustically) so I really needed a more robust speaker for the fronts. In the rear, these little babies sound great. I use my surround sound exclusively for watching blu rays and playing Xbox, and they perform very well.2. The Intrusiveness of the speaker: Apparently, wives do not like speakers that take up space, conflict with their design, or draw attention visually. The TL2s are "wife-friendly" speakers for people who do not have a dedicated room just for their home-theater/entertainment systems. They have a small footprint, and are available in black and white (which is what I had to have.) There are very few good quality speakers in the middle-low price range that come in white, which makes these an automatic win in my book. And my wife didn't complain when I installed them.3. The cost of the speaker: To be honest, I would pay much more for speakers if I had a dedicated space for a home theater, as long as they meet criteria 1 and 2 above. But given that my hands were tied with regards to size/shape/color the price on these Polk TL2s (and even more so, the TL3s) is very good for the quality. If money is no object, there are better speakers out there. If budgets are tight, these are great value speaker for small to medium spaces. If you have it to spare, the TL3s are a SIGNIFICANT step up in quality for the difference in price.As it stands, I have two TL2s as my rear channels, two TL3s for the front channels, and have every intention of putting a TL3 center channel in as soon as I have the funds available. These are run through a Sony DH-800 receiver and sound great in our living room.

Speakers blox easily
One speaker blew after less than a year of use. Used daily as rear speakers for TV. Did not abuse, just kept at normal audio levels. Crackles on a regular basis now.

Inconclusive
Arrived defective. One speaker kept shorting out. I know it was the speaker because I changed the wires twice. In between the cutting in and out they didn't seem to sound near as good as I had hoped, so I went for the refund

Fantastic value...
I'm not a audio expert, but consider myself to be an amateur audiophile and do love listening to good music, across most all genre's. These little speakers really sound great, for the price they went beyond my expectations. I'm using them in my workout area and just wanted some decent sound from some small speakers I could hang-up out of the way. Wow, doe these impress! Nice mid-range and not over bearing high-range. Just nice, clean sound. I will say that you'll need base, which I have a separate 10" Polk sub running. I wouldn't say these compare 100% with my home theater rear speaker, but those cost > 3x as much. From a value perpextive, these hold their own.

Great sound, small size, good for surround sound deployment
So far so good. plugged these in as rear surround sound speakers to make 7.2 and noticed the difference right away. Price was great for the white units - will be hidden anyway, so color didn't matter. Hated to break up the uniformity of my Definitive Technology set up, but the price was right and Polk reputation is decent.

Excelent quality, size, and sound
The Polk Audio TL2 speakers are excellent choice for rear or side surround speakers. I added them to my 7.2 Sony system and they perform excellent. I reccomend them to anyone needing a 100 dollar satelite speaker.one "L" Loyd.

Nice little speakers with good sound
Good sound and merges nicely with my wall. The back design could be better to accommodate extra wire and easy hanging up. The sound it pretty good for the price that i paid!
