It is large and beautiful. If you want a different look you can change the Crystals to a different color. Mine is bigger than I thought it would be because of the other reviews. Some people said they were putting it in a nursery so I pictured a much smaller lamp. It's big and very beautiful, I put in a 40 watt light bulb and it's bright enough that I will be able to read with it on. I put it up next to my side of out bed and I might order another one for my husband's side. That would make a lot of room on our night stands without a lamp to take up all of the space. Thank you Amazon for stocking such a wonderful lamp. It can be used in any room in our house and I can change the look with the addition of another color of Crystal. I forgot to say that the large Crystals are made of glass and the look is stunning... The only thing that I would change would be to add a on / off switch to the cord, It is a royal pain to have to plug and unplug the lamp whenever I use my lamp !!! It probably wouldn't be too hard to change the cord but it would be an added expense and a major pain in the rear for someone like me with no electric no how. Just plug it in and turn it on. We hardwired it into the ceiling, but if you want to plug it into an existing outlet and hang it from a hook, you can do it about a minute after taking it out of the box. There is plenty of cord and chain length to work with. All the crystal strands come already attached, all individually plastic wrapped, but easy to cut off plastic after hanging. The box comes with the hardware and cover plate if you plan to install or use as a swag lamp, as I did. My box came with no instructions, however it's very standard knowledge. Take out of box, hang from ceiling, remove plastic, screw in bulbs, plug in....let there be light!The one thing that I feel should have come with instructions is the hard wire that hangs from the light fixture. If you are hardwired installing this (light switch fixture) you need this wire. If you are hanging this with a screw hooks, as I did, then you may cut this off (before you plug it in)Also, they are slightly off level.
