Very happy to have found a seller that gave me a great deal on a very valuable book like this.

I loved using this book to prepare for Nokia NRS2 exam in 2021. The three written exams (pre-BGP requirement) are structured exactly as this book is structured. Note: the practice Labs are crucial for the written exam success, though considerably more relevant for the Lab exam.I only struggled in the OSPF section of this book - for this, I relied on Cisco websites as this book very poorly explains OSPF messages and concepts. However, once I learned the concepts from other technical sources, this book began to make sense and I could use it to learn the exam related questions.For preparation, I simply ready each chapter, completed the practice questions, moved on (no matter how badly I did), then returned to repeat for each chapter in the exam section I was working on. Re-reading the chapter was essential for my success, as I finally understood earlier concepts after reading some of the later concepts (either in the same chapter, or even later in the book).As an industry resource, this is a great starting place to designing many network elements. Keep on hand at all times!

The best book on network concepts and configuration. The only thing is, it's smaller in size with 1445 pagers and soft cover, so hard to handle.

Authors have tried to explain concepts in the most simple and lucid language which helped me a lotAll in all a well written book!

MUST HAVE, If you plans to get certified.Lots of details and explanations.Very descriptive explanations of product, routing and protocols

I can finally give my review after successfully obtaining my NRS-2 certification. I was able to pass the 3 required exams - IRP, MPLS, & Services Architecture- in just a span of one month for a guy that has little ip/data background. This book is very thorough. Even though the authors are saying that the contents are based on Alcatel's officail training manuals (which I happen to have copies of as well), the explanations and examples in this book are a lot clearer. The lab exercises at the end of every chapters are straightforward. I still caught a few typos in this book but they are a lot less than in the official training manuals. I was also able to pass the lab exam few months after passing all the written tests by just going over the lab exercises in the book. I did not even need to avail of their "Service Prep" service for hands on practice.One thing I would like to see changed/improved are placement of diagrams and tables. I find it odd that in a lot of cases, the diagrams/tables are 2 or more pages away from the page where the text explanations are written. This may not be an issue if you have the hard copy book. but if you get the kindle version, it is very frustrating to go back and forth many times to check on the diagrams/screen output being refered to. Another thing that they screwed up is the missing answer keys for one chapter, this is probably a printing error since the answer keys for the chapter before it was duplicated. Aside from those, this book is outstanding.I hope that they would come up with a book for the SRA certification as well.

Great book for reference or for studying for the exams. If you're not aware, there are very limited locations for the lab exam, so decide if you have enough money to fly to another city, a hotel, pay for lab exam, and any associated time to practice before pursuing this route.

I have bought this book to train on NRS2.I think the tests on the book are more difficult than the real exam.It is a good complement of the training session books.
