I had to modify these curtains to make them fit my window correctly. I ended up cutting the curtains in half in order to be the correct length (see attached pic). The valance fit perfectly. The valance is a little thicker material than the curtains. The curtains are not totally black out, but the cover the window and you can't see through them, so they serve its purpose.
