Q: Why does the power source say "wind powered"?

There is an error in the software used that uploads information into Amazon. The RTG-84XLN-1 uses natural gas to heat the water and a power supply cord is included to work the remote control and other components inside of the unit. Q: Will this unit accept preheated water? I’d like to use it as a back up to my solar passive system that doesn’t have a built in heater unit.

I read the specs and I don’t see any restrictions on inlet temp. It has a temperature sensor and should adjust to any inlet water temp. If you supply water at a temperature above the water temperature set point, I assume it just would not turn the gas on, and let the water flow through.

Numerous ways to install any water heater. One way is to install a recirculation pump and loop your hot water line so you have hot water at points of use at all times. That way you have hot water immediately but, to me, it defeats the purpose of having on demand tankless because you are back to keeping your water hot all the time.

Q: What size circuit breaker does this heater require?

The gas models use very little current . I am a electrician and just run off the closest available source.
