Great plant heat mats!
I like the heat mats. My seeds started sprouting in a week. The mats have a preset temperature so there is no temperature control button. You just plug it in and place your trays. The mats stay heated as long as it's plugged into an outlet. Update: 02/29. Mats still working and seedling growing like crazy!

Helps germinate seeds with ease.
Works great. Since it was rolled up when it was shipped, all I had to do was plug it in and within 15 mins, it became straight. You should have a thermometer when using this heating mat, otherwise your plants will get too hot. This is my 6th and 7th mat that I have plugged into the same thermostat.I definitely can tell the difference between germination rate with and without a heating mat. Will be buying another set shortly

Good product for the price
I've seen a lot of reviews on this product addressing that it either does not heat, or gets too hot. If you put your hand directly on the pad, it may not feel warm. If you put your hand on the bottom of the pot, it may feel too warm. *Our hands are not accurate gauges of temperature*. The material that you're feeling, the temperature of your hands, the temperature of the room -- heck, even how sweaty your hands are -- can affect your perception on this. It's why we don't feel our kids' foreheads with our fingers when they have a fever. But since I'm not about to go around kissing my seedling flats, I used a thermometer instead.Again, keep in mind that straight warming mats (without thermostats) will raise the temperature of the bottom of your pots or flats *ten to twenty degrees (F) above ambient room temperature*. If you're running your heater at a toasty 80 degrees and then turn this on, yeah, the teeny roots will fry if it hits 100. Same if you're growing under lights, which also raises that baseline temperature. That being said, I'm running 128 watts of lowered T8 fluorescents per shelf, and the ambient temperature under those lights *and just above the mat* currently reads 84. Soil temp is a perfect 78, and my overall room temp is 68.All of this to say, the product works exactly as described. (Also, I'm a Master Gardener, which means that my state's university agriculture extension thinks I know what I'm talking about.)

Its NOT broken!
I had bought one of these a few years ago and was happy with it and decided to get 2 more. I was suprised by the bad reviews but knowing that mine in the past worked fine, I went ahead and ordered the 2 pack. Very quickly after setting up my grow area I noticed one mat was super hot and one didnt work at all, the 3rd was a little warm. I unplugged the one that didnt work and threw it to the side. Later i noticed that the really warm one wasn't so warm anymore and i realized the problem might be that i had them all in the saw power strip! The one I had set aside worked again once it was in a different outlet! Then I seperated the other 2 into 2 different power strips and they both worked perfectly! I've been using all 3 since December or so and no issues at all. Understand they are supposed to barely be warm! I only used each one for a week or so, just until you get good germination. Then I start again. I've got about 100 flats of native plants, annuals and vegetables. Good luck and happy growing!

I just ordered two more!
We started using these to help jump start our plants for growing season. It is nice to start tomato in January and by last frost you set them out and can harvest earlier than everyone else. We also use it for our flowers since we grow flowers for our polinators. Worth the money and the early harvest the reward of getting more harvested is well worth it. Living in the south we have a good growing season but if you can do more why not. This method allows close to three chances for us where we usually only get a beginning and a late start or second harvest I can have very early, then the normal start and my late garden. Worth the money I do plan on getting a few more.
