My favorite bath mat
I honestly didn't think bath mats were made like this anymore. They're tastefully simplistic. I've had nothing but good experiences with AmazonBasics linens, so I purchased three mats. They're very much like a towel only much more dense. I like these because I can frequently launder them with ease. I loathe leaving mats on the floor for days on end (it's too close to the toilet) and I don't care for rubbery or bulky mats. These are the perfect standard size. They are absorbent. They quickly air-dry and I think they look really nice. Best of all, they're very affordable. They don't have a non-slip backing; I wouldn't put one of these in my 73 year old mother's bathroom, but for the rest of my family they're perfect. The photos I've uploaded were taken after the first wash. They washed up beautifully.

Excellent bath mat without a nonslip backing!
As someone who doesn't appreciate products being "marked down" for a feature that they don't claim to have, I knew I had to write a review for these bath mats!Do they have a nonslip backing? No! But it clearly states that information in the product description.I prefer these towel-like bath mats over those with the nonslip backing because they are much easier to just throw in the laundry with your towels. And the nonslip variety can quickly become gross, in my opinion.I purchased similar bath mats of another brand over the summer and I've been very happy with the daily use of this type of bath mat. I have two teenage boys and I was initially worried about someone slipping when they stepped out of the shower. You have to try pretty hard to slide these across the floor. We've been using this type of bath mat in three different bathrooms for 6 months and no one has ever come close to slipping. If you're worried, it's understandable but trust me, you should just give them a try.As far as this Amazon Basic mat is concerned, they appear to be high quality and look like they'll hold up to many washings. I'll update this post if necessary in the future. The Amazon Basic mat, compared to the other brand I purchased over the summer, appears to be more plush and therefore is more "comfy" to step out onto after the shower. But this may be because my other mats have been washed many, many times over the past 6 months and have lost some of their plushiness!

Not a rug
This is just what I wanted, a true bathmat, not a rug. I prefer these over rugs because they can be tossed in the washer and dryer with the towels, and they are nice and absorbent. This one in particular, in white, is much heavier than I expected. If you need a non-slip mat, though, don't get this. This is an extra heavy piece of cotton terry cloth, not designed to be left on the floor.

Absorbent towel to step on after showering
It's fine for that person who steps out of shower dripping wet. It's not a cushioned mat, but just something to keep the floor semi-dry for those mentioned above; plus it dries much quicker than a cushy mat (because if you're like me and live with someone who leaves the bathroom looking like a small hurricane came through, you need quick drying stuff. Also, messy people don't deserve a cushy mat).

Honestly
Just get a big hand towel and throw it on the floor .... Ta-DaIf you want a rug this is not what you are looking for.It really looks like just an over sized hand towel that is laying on the floor.Easy to clean sure.Light weight sure.If you want a rug order something else.

Exactly as listed, great deep color, and very absorbent.
This was exactly what I expected, which makes it perfect for us. The listing clearly states it’s a towel-type mat, and it is indeed. A thick type, and the inner ‘border’ does a lot to class it up.I have a situation where one door is too close to the floor so I couldn’t use a “real” bath mat. This fits perfectly in that situation and does what I wanted.Stitching is sturdy and even, no folds, lumps, skips, or flaws. The material is a nice, soft cotton. It’s easier to wash and dry than a rubber-backed mat. I do dry it on medium heat so it doesn’t shrink. Has good thick loops so is great at sucking up the water, and dries a lot more quickly than rubber-backed does. Excellent color, too, very rich (I’d call it more cobalt than navy, though).I’m good about updating if anything pops up. Any questions, feel free to comment or email.

Tumble dry on low
These are not the quality I have been looking for. Washed one time and they shriveled up like breakfast bacon. Can't leave them on the floor without the door catching on them now. Definitely not prewashed cotton. Wish I could find some good quality made in USA hotel grade bath mats.

I do not like the plastic trays that go under dish racks
I do not like the plastic trays that go under dish racks. No matter what kind I have bought, or how expensive they are, they always look awful within six months, and no matter how big they are there is always water on the counter. Yuck. I looked for bathmats I could wash weekly that would serve the purpose and finally found these. I wanted something that would not curl up, with no rubber backing, that was totally washable and dryable, that would wear well and look good over time, and be highly absorbent. These are beautiful. I bought black and you can't tell they are there. I have two I alternate, one of the counter, one in the wash. I don't use them as bath mats because I like a really big one and just use towels, but if they had this in a towel size I would buy two for bathmats as well.

Good quality mat; like the colour. Fits my requirements.
For various reasons my requirements for a bathroom mat mean that I need one which is cotton (without a non-slip backing), highly absorbent and that will dry reasonably quickly. This one fits the bill.I bought this mat to replace an old mat of a similar type. While my wet feet tended to stick to the old mat which, still sticking to my feet, was then lifted when I moved around, I find that this new one hardly sticks to my feet at all.One problem I have found with this type of mat is that they do not machine wash well in that they often will not spin-dry. I have decided therefore that I will hand-wash this mat. A nuisance, I know, but I do not like to risk damaging my washing machine by washing too heavy items.

A glorified floor towel.
Is nothing more than a towel for the floor, feels like a bath towel and acts like a bath towel, never stays in same place for more than two minutes, as has no rubber backing, wanted a carpet to save me a chore of mopping up wet paw prints on kitchen floor not create a new chore and still have to mop up paw prints, brought a different carpet that does do what it says and have cut this carpet up to use with my floor mop which actually is better than the normal replaciable mop pads.

It's thin to fit under a door in a small bathroom
Perfect for my needs. I wanted a bath mat that was thin since I have the door to the bathroom very close to the shower. Everyone was moaning about it being too flimsy and marking it down on the reviews so I thought awesome, finally a bath mat that won't get trapped under my door and it's perfect! However, it loses one star because the base has no grip and it easily rumples.
