Medical Management of Diabetes Mellitus
N**R
Does not give valid info on the issue of diabetes ether type of it.
It is not that I do not like the book. Book is good, no any marks, clean print, like new. There is no any problem with book. The content of book is just out of any reasonable true understanding diabetes what it is and how to live with one day after another. To begin with, diabetes type 2, and what is it? Looks like authors did not care what to put on the print. Why diabetes type 1 is absolute deficit in insulin secretion? To be clear say me what is the level of insulin secretion can be considered 'normal'? Back to 1937 Dr. Joslin and other doctors in Diabetes Center in Boston considered the demand of insulin is about from 100 to 300 units daily. Now diabetics type 1 take less then 10 units of insulin, and they are absolutely not capable to secret insulin? Does not sound real or reasonable. Another point is, insulin resistance which was first described also back to the time when insulin was in infancy, soon after it was discovered. The problem is, children were insulin sensitive and to needed less dose of insulin to have urine sugar-free. For adult the dose of insulin was higher. Highest dose of insulin Dr.Joslin injected was 400 units within 24 hours. Otherwise diabetic had high level of sugar in urine and ketons. Book is not valid. It is interesting to read to understand the social value of brain washing. But to have any reason to get understanding of diabetes and condition we in, keep your time for some better reading.
