I have long hair almost to my waist but I'm pretty sure it will work for mid length hair as well since the curls are just the perfect size and don't fall out. Also I have very dull, thin and damaged hair, this makes my hair look full and SHINY, not to mention the wand is well made, good quality and beautifully designed!I BOUGHT BOTH the CI95 and CI9532 wand and this (bigger wand) is so much better! I don't see why anyone would want the disgusting tight small curls CI95 wand makes, they say that you can use the bigger part of the barrel to achieve loose curls but unless you have very short hair or you WILL need the whole length of the barrel to curl. I bought the ci95 first and absolutely hate it, I had to use the lowest temperature in no holding spray and brushed through afterwards yet still got too small curls that I can never wear out without looking silly.Only downside of the CI9532 wand: no clamp, have to hold it so sore arms. At first look I really liked the design the all black and flower pattern is very cute. The blue LED temperature is very clear and the silver heat buttons are easy to see the difference between. The swivel cord is nice and long too.I have very thick layered hair that is nearly waist length. I used this on a medium heat setting and it took me no time at all to curl all my hair. At first the curls are quite tight but they can be brushed out to create a softer look. I love the thickness of the barrel because it means I can take large sections of hair and not worry about it being perfect. I've also used it when wearing my hair in a ponytail to make it more bouncy.I would recommend this product for people with shoulder length hair or longer because I think it would give a better effect. It's great value for money and something I will use over again. After 1 day the curls fell out which was a pain but they still looked nice as they had a tously wave to them (I sprayed a lot of hairspray as well!)Overall I think the curlers are worth the money and delivery is quite fast, (it came within 5 days!). Also I don't put the temperature any higher then 150`C and I find it works perfectly with my medium-thick hair.I am not using any heat protecting products and I am happy with the way the pro curl's finish, so far no split ends or dry/ frizzy bits and I have been using it for almost 3 months. My sister and I are mixed race - our hair is naturally thick and curly, and we both achieve amazing long-lasting curls. After my hair is curled, the curls don't drop in my hair so I find this perfect for me. I have also used this wand on my human hair extensions which are very long and thick - and the curls always come out perfect. If I'm in a rush, I take larger chunks of hair and it gives me a nice loose wave for the day, but if you take smaller pieces you will get a solid traditional barrel curl. I prefer loose waves - and this wand has never let me down. This comes with a glove which helps handling hair, and it heats up in seconds which is great.
