Well, I see all these questions about size and weight so I thought I'd give some good perspective here. My two staffy mixes are 35 and 42 lbs with the heavier one being on the bottom bunk. My little beagle heeler mix is 33 lbs which puts a total of 68 lbs on the top bunk with the two of them together.The steps are steep for sure so probably an older dog or smaller dog would have a bit of trouble maneuvering them but they are pretty wide steps being about 20 inches across and a little more than 7 and a 1/2 inches deep, which is actually what I was more afraid of, but they're really pretty good. My kids had no trouble with them.It was super easy to assemble and you do it in two parts. First the steps then the bunk. I guess you could leave the steps off though if you put it next to your bed and have jumpers. I think it's about 40 to 50 ish lbs once fully assembled.I will say that this is a very sturdy product and I'm really glad we made this purchase.

Omg! The PERFECT solution! My maltipoos always want in my lap while I'm editing photos. I couldn't work with them and the wouldn't leave me alone. Got this set up by my desk yesterday, and it worked great! There is room on top for both dogs at the same time. They have access to me and can almost look me in the eye. It's easy to reach over and pet them a moment as I continue to work. They can easily manage the steps. It's very solid.I'm thrilled!

It was easy to assemble. It is sturdy and looks good. I was excited to find this online because the measurements were perfect for giving our dogs a place to sit and look out the window. My dogs are 20-25 lbs each. 1 dog is a poodle mix and the other is a chihuahua mix. I measured the steps in case anyone needs to know: The steps are 8" high x 8" deep but with the bed on top the top step becomes 10.5". I read a lot of reviews and heard the top step was a bit too tall for some dogs and the steps are too steep for some dogs when going down. I bought it anyway and our dogs can manage the steps but not easily so I took the 2 steps off and put another set of 3 steps in the same place. I have the steps from the buddy bunk by the couch.

Love it! Enough space for my 2 chihuahuas. The material is very strong, it’s very sturdy and very easy to mount. I also like how the bed on top is strapped with Velcro so its not moving around either - great small detail!The only minor issue was the stairs it comes with because for small dogs the last step is too high but it was easily fixed with a stairs I already had which is the Certi-Pur from Best Pet Supplies Store (you can find it also here on Amazon).It’s a game changer because it helped a LOT with anxiety too. The dogs didn’t had anything else to view if we weren’t here and even though they have a lot of toys it’s the same scene. Now they love to just go up there and stare outside and see the scenery, cars pass by, hear and now see the birds, etc. We also put a baby gate on the window too for extra precaution.If you are thinking about it, go for it!!

Pros:-sturdy enough for medium size dogs.-decent quality.-step carpets and top and bottom mats are strongly velcroed down. Will not budge.-taller than other raised platform beds/houses. Minnie loves to look out windows.Cons:-strong chemical smell out of box that stays for a day.-very confusing to put together, more so then other pieces of furniture. Took over 2 hours to put together with just me doing it.-8 inch rise from floor to first step and from first to second step but 10 to 11 inches from second step to top platform. Even my larger girl will only walk up the stairs. She jumps down from the top because that one stair is too steep and too shallow for her to feel comfortable going down it. Sort of defeats the whole purpose of having stairs at all.-steps could have been designed in a way to allow for storage underneath. I’m in a small apartment so that space is wasted now.Will update over time if anything else comes up to note. Overall it’s just ok. Will not work at all for small dogs unless you modify it.

I was worried it would be too small but our pit bull fit comfortably underneath and our Frenchie felt safe up top. Nothing shifted when he jumped up there, our pit bull also tried the top bunk and it did even move. Good and sturdy. Definitely made to be next to a bed that has a box spring and a mattress, but that was my bad for not measuring height. We’ll get a box spring and it will be perfect.

Our Beagle mix loves this! We are using it as a window perch next to the couch. Much safer than the end table he used to stand on. The stairs were a little high for him and he won’t go up stairs with an open back. Since the stairs attach separately, we ordered different stairs. Bottom shelf is a good place for his toy box. The molding pieces on the top can be attached on either side. Overall, it’s good quality and easy to put together!

If you can assemble IKEA furniture then you can assemble this. The only trouble I had was attaching the stairs to the bunk part. It's very sturdy and good quality. Stairs are a little steep but not a problem for my dog (she'll also shortcut and just jump off it too).

We found it easy to build, Kyle our doggy loves his bed, we have had it over a year now. Can I ask is it possible to buy a new mattress for this product. Kyle never uses the stairs so it means the Velcro and cushion is very worn and I wanna refresh it for him

Ist Stabil,praktisch und sieht gut aus. Ich finde dieses Beistellbett hervorragend.Würde es mir immer wieder kaufen. Meine beiden französischen Bulldogge kommen über die Treppe super hoch und sie lieben es.

The product is ok but I’m not overalls thrilled about it. Some of the parts had the wrong labels on them which caused confusion when assembling the item. It does the job and makes a good window perch. The stairs are steep. My dog can just about manage to get down them. However, it did not arrive on time and disappointed to see the price has gone up by £45. It’s certainly not worth £165. Would be quicker building one yourself.
