Best tomato cuber around!
Works great to cube tomatoes! Each week I need to cube around 3 kilos (6 lbs) of tomatoes and to do that by hand with a knife it can take close to an hour (at a steady but not crazy pace). Have tried several different devices including nicer dicer plus and similar, never found anything that worked (they mostly just smash the tomatoes up). Also been looking at professional solutions but they are bulky and cost between $100-$400 or so and more difficult to clean. Decided to try this one because of other reviews and I'm amazed because it works and works well.Best way to work it with tomatoes: I typically use smaller to medium sized tomatoes that are juicy and ripe. The device comes with two grids; I'm using the coarse grid only (as I want cubes, not mash). Wash tomatoes and halve them. Then place each half face-down onto the grid and slam it through. Put only one half-tomato each time; if you put more than one at a time it won't cut as sharply. Also make sure to SLAM IT through; that's the way to cut it sharply into cubes. If you cannot use some strength to slam it rather than push it, the results may not be as good (the cut won't be as sharp, tomato may become somewhat mashed). It works quite fast as you can simply lift the handle, place a half tomato, and slam down, then lift again etc. And remember to place the tomato-half face down (with the cut side on the grid).I estimate this device saves me around 45 minutes a week cubing tomatoes, that's nearly 40 hours a year! It is easy to assemble and disassemble and washes easily in the dishwasher. Thoroughly recommended.

for mangos
use it to make perfect mango cubes, and it does ! Cleaning is easy ,but sometimes you need a lot of water pressure to get in-between the rows to get it very clean . Works well obviously on other others onions, celery , easy ,good description ,good price holding up well

Sturdy and easy to use
After much research and reading reviews on this chopper I decided to purchase it. I had previously purchased a chopper from Amazon.com and was very dissappointed. It was cheaply made and immediately broke. I have used this chopper several times using onions. It worked well, did the job even better than I expected it too. The design and sturdiness of this product leads me to believe it will last much longer than the previous one. So far, I would recommend this product.

Do NOT Buy, Breaks On LIGHT Use, Absolute Garbage For The Price, Insult To Zyliss Brand Of The Past
I had first run into Zyliss products in (West) Germany in 1987, and bought one of the slightly larger versions of these for my Mom. It is STILL in use by my family in Pakistan. My sister estimates 2 tons of potatoes and stuff have passed through that by now. Not only was this horrible design limiting in how much you can chop before emptying out the thing every time, but the angle it presses on let's say an onion is also angled not vertical pressure. That also squeezes the vegetable sideways rather than just press it down onto the blades. But worst of all, for a HappilySingle™ guy who does NOT cook and may have used it for chopping only about 30 quartered onions in one whole year, the hinges literally snapping off the body rendering it unusable means this is $33 worth of junk. If it was $3-7, I would be fine throwing it away and getting a new one. For $33 it is my duty to tell you NOT to buy it.

Surface too small--Back to the Alligator
I replaced my Alligator onion chopper with this one and have used it for several months now. I have decided to go back to the Alligator. Here are my pros and cons:PROS: Ergonomically, it is superior. The handle and overall design make it easier to use and the plastic "catch bin" on the bottom is helpful and holds at least two full cups. I gave it three stars for these qualities.CONS: One BIG one: The surface area for cutting is WAY, WAY too small. With the Alligator, I usually cut and onion in half and it chops just fine. With this one, I have to chop the onion at least in quarters, if not smaller, to get it to work properly.BOTTOM LINE: After using the product for a while, I've decided it is just not worth the hassle of chopping the onion into such small pieces in order to be able to use this thing. I might as well just chop the whole thing myself for all the time and effort it takes. I ordered another Alligator and will be going back to that product from now on.

Great Chopper, Easy to Use & Clean
I LOVE this chopper. A friend of mine had one and after seeing her use it I just had to get one. So easy to use, chops wonderfully, easy to take apart and clean. I was skeptical it could do half an onion in one chop, especially since I usually buy big sweet onions, but it went through like a breeze. You do have to put smaller pieces in the smaller chopper, but still works great. The small cleaning tool seems a little silly, but it actually works great at getting out the stubborn pieces. Warning, do not touch the blades, they are super sharp. Yep, found out the hard way. Even has rubber strips on the bottom to keep it from slipping. This product works great and I highly recommend it!

Onion chopper & I'm returning it
1. Very difficult to use; I had to push down on the handle with all my strength, and could barely manage to cut through the onion. I thought the handle would break off.2. I had a medium size onion, and it was too big to fit on the chopping panel.3. It's REALLY difficult to clean! I received a little comb-like tool to get the residue of onions out, but it was painstakingly slow. The dishwasher could not get it completely clean either. I had to use the comb again.

Sturdy
All choppers break but so far this one seems to be stronger than others I have had over the years. A little bulky but sturdy.
