Best case I've tried so far, and yet not the case for me... or is it? (later: yes, it is!)
I've now tried three different keyboard cases for my iPad Air 2, and in most regards, this is my favorite. It's a solid case and has sleekest profile when closed. However, it doesn't have a full keyboard, which won't matter to almost anyone reading this, but for me, it doesn't have an escape key, and that turns out to be something that geeky me needs to use when traveling (when accessing remote unix machines). For normal people, though, this is a pretty excellent case.Pros:1. Solid keyboard, with keys that are evocative of the lovely sleek Mac keyboard keys.2. The most form-fitting of the three cases I've tried, which means that it adds the least bulk to the iPad.3. Cutouts in all the right places4. Easy enough (but not too easy) to get the iPad in and out.5. Reasonable enough when folding it back to just use the tablet.Cons:1. Little bumps to tell you where F and J are are barely anything, and I can't easily find them. These are essential for a touch typist.2. The outside feel of the case is disappointing. It's hard plastic, with a very nice texture, so that it's not slippery. It's actually very thoughtfully designed. But there's something about it that feels cheap to me. Others will enjoy how solid it is, so this is just my aesthetic... the lone iPad is such a lovely sleek thing and I would love to find a keyboard case that has a similar aesthetic.3. No escape key. When I looked at this online, I was just checking for cases that have six full rows of keys and didn't check carefully enough about particular keys. Very few users will care about this.4. Can't adjust the angle of the screen relative to the keyboard, as you can with some cases.5. You can predict where this is going to give out, which is the hinge between the two hard-case outer pieces. Moving this around -- folding and unfolding -- you can see that that point is taking a lot of stress and is not sturdy enough for it.6. I prefer a case that has velcro or something to hold the cover when you're not using the keyboard and just reading on it as a tablet. The other cases I've tried are:1. The Belkin QODE Ultimate Keyboard Case for iPad Air 2 (White) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QTDTT5Y This has only four rows of keys, so I was definitely disappointed2. The Logitech Type+ Protective Case with Integrated Keyboard for iPad Air 2, Dark Blue (920-006913) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QOOI6MK This Logitech has a very similar keyboard layout to the Kensington here (including no escape key; maybe I am SOL) It has a larger profile, with maybe an extra 1/4" buffer around the outside edge of the iPad But is really rather similar in functionality to the Kensington here. It has a textured vinyl exterior that is not as tough as the Kensington, and yet doesn't seem to have the obvious weak spot at the hinge.I am going to look into keyboard remapping, and contact both manufacturers, but my guess is that I don't get to have an escape key. I'll also continue to try out both keyboards, and will update this review if I learn more or my opinion changes.Update: I was just googling the escape key iPad issue and found some helpful suggestions that I will note here and try out later:1. "If you have a keyboard with the "keyboard key" the fourth from the left On the top row of keys. This functions like the escape key on other keyboards." So this might work.2. Give Ctrl and [ a try that should send the same as Esc (ASCII 27).This might mean this case works fine for me... when I'm in a position to connect to the servers, I'll try it and report back.Update 2:1. This did not work for me, as well it should not. The keyboard key is there to allow you to have the regular iPad keypad show up on the screen itself.2. Ctrl-[ did work for me3. Fn-<home> also worked for me (function key + the house button, on the upper left)I'll mention as well that I'm using the app Prompt to get to the servers, which does provide an escape button on the touch screen... but I wanted it on the keyboard. So I will keep trying out this case and might end up deciding this is my preferred case.Later: Yes, I am at peace with the things that were awkward before, and I am very happy with this case.

Great Keyboard Case with Great Keyboard & Nice Design
UPDATE on 07/08/2015: The new keyboard is still working well, so I increased the stars for this review. I still think the customer service was terrible, but the keyboard is really great and the case protects the iPad really well. I haven't had any problems with the new keyboard at all and it's a dream to type on. The keyboard battery lasts for few weeks at a time, but it doesn't have a good indicator that the battery might die soon, so I keep a charging cord with me when I'm away from home.UPDATE: on 04/03/2015: I finally received the new keyboard case from Kensington yesterday. At first I thought it wasn't working, but I called today and the customer service person helped me get it going. It was my mistake this time. I am still concerned about it not holding a charge for long, but we'll see how it goes.Adding: I think their customer service is terrible, but the customer service people are polite. The person I spoke to today was very patient, and I appreciate that. I still think I shouldn't have had to wait four weeks for a new case (from March 6th until yesterday, April 2nd), but if this one continues to work, I will be satisfied. The keyboard itself is lovely to type on. I barely notice that it's not full size, and the keys have a nice amount of give to them--not too much, not too noisy, but just enough.UPDATE on 03/30/2015: Short summary: I finally was able to get into contact with Kensington about this issue. I was told both over the phone that they would send me a new keyboard case. Via email I was informed that the item was backordered until March 17th and would take a further 10 - 12 business days to arrive. Then last week I received an email saying that my support incident was closed even though I'd received no item.Today I was told over the phone that my new keyboard case had been shipped and that I would receive it in "more than 10 days." This seemed like an odd way to phrase it. The person I spoke to had a very strong accent and kept repeating the same things over and over, no matter what questions I asked, and I wasn't sure sometimes if he was saying it *had* been shipped or that it *hadn't* been shipped. I was informed that it was backordered until March 26th. I received no information from Kensington about this further delay via email or in any other way (until today).Shortly after I ended the phone call, I received an email from Kensington that my keyboard had been shipped *today*. ? It was worded as if I had just placed an order over the phone, not any indication that this is a replacement order. I think this was just the person I spoke to sending me an email, because I had asked for shipping information and a tracking number, though this was not provided in the email. My advice: Never buy anything from this company. They are vague both over the phone and via email. They don't know what they are doing. And they will keep you waiting and waiting.UPDATE on 03/28/2015:I still have not received a keyboard. I received another email from Kensington saying they hadn't heard from me for two weeks and thus they decided my problem was "solved." As far as I know, they have not shipped the new keyboard to me. They didn't hear from me, because I was told on the phone that they were sending me a new keyboard and I was told in an email that I wouldn't receive it until 10 - 12 business days *after* March 17. They gave no indication that I was supposed to contact them again for any reason.I would never buy another Kensington product because of this deplorable customer service. They keyboard case was great while it worked, but it didn't work for long. According to the Q&As, I am not the only one having this problem. I wish it was not too late to return this and get something else.EDIT on 03/13/2015:This is a lovely keyboard case with great functionality. It's nice to type on and I never had any connectibility issues. I used it for about two months, almost to the day, and then it just quit working. It would seem to charge (the green light would blink and then become solid after a time, indicating full charge), but the keyboard would not connect. The keys wouldn't light up. The keyboard itself was dead. I did not drop it or spill anything on it or otherwise damage it. It just stopped working.I contacted Kensington and they were very nice. They insisted I try charging it with another cord, so I used my Kindle charging cord, which had the same result. I called right back the same day, and they told me they would send me a new one. I assumed they'd send it right out and I'd have it within a few days, a week at most.Today is a week and they still haven't shipped it. They sent me an email today saying the keyboard is backordered until March 17th. That is only a few more days, so I can live with that, but what I find disturbing is that they also state in the email that it will take another 10 - 12 business days for them to ship it. I can't even imagine why it would take so long for them to ship it out and for me to receive it.I am an unhappy customer at this point. Products fail from time to time, that's understandable. The backorder is less understandable, but these things happen. What I consider to be terrible customer service is taking an extra two weeks or more (in business days) to get the replacement product to me (once they have it in stock). That is unacceptable.---------Original ReviewThis is a great keyboard in a really nice, elegant iPad Air 2 case. The iPad fits snugly into the back case and the magnetic groove holds the iPad upright (for typing). It feels very sturdy both when upright and also when closed. The best part of this case is the keyboard. The feel of typing takes a little bit to get used to, but much less than I'd thought before I received it. Typing is smooth and easy and within maybe 2 days or so, I was used to the feel of it and no longer making a lot of errors. While it's not a full-size keyboard, it doesn't feel like I'm typing on a tiny keyboard either. I have not had any problem with it dropping letters or stuttering or any of the other issues I had with the Apple bluetooth keyboard (which I used with my iPad 3 for a bit more than 2 1/2 years and with this new iPad Air 2 for the past few weeks until I received this case). The outside of the case is much nicer than I thought. It has a textured look and feel that is elegant and a bit businesslike. Even though I'm not using it for work, I feel a bit professional when I'm sitting in Starbucks or even at my own kitchen table. The drawback of this case is that it turns your iPad into a sort of a clamshell netbook and you lose the versatility of holding the keyboard separately (away from the iPad) on your lap. It's a very small trade-off, though. I thought I wouldn't be able to get used to it, but so far, it hasn't been a problem. The case folds down over the keyboard for reading (as shown in the photos and video in the product description), and it works really well. I thought this would make it bulky for reading, but I really don't notice it. It even fits on my little Peeramid pillow for reading in bed.Overall, this is a really nice, sleek case. It's light enough that I can carry this in my purse and take it everywhere. I love that I'm no longer carrying the bulkier Apple keyboard with me everywhere. I especially love that this keyboard just works and doesn't stutter or run out of batteries because I can simply recharge it.

Oops I ordered the wrong thing...
Product was just fine but I returned it for the correct model for my iPad - purely my mistake. Amazon was amazing with their return process and I am very pleased with the correct, replacement product.

NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT I am really desapointed
NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT I am really desapointed ! My keyboard started to loose it charge a few weeks ago and now it doesn't want to connect to my Ipad anymore. I can't pair it with my Ipad anymore. at first I really liked my keyboard it was working well! But after 3 months it stops working. There's a limited 1 year garanty but Kensington doesn't want to change it because I bought it on amazon. For the price I was expecting it to work at least 2 years.
