Q: Any ideas what may cause to stop working? In full sun and connections checked.

My pump would get clogged on a regular basis. Blow it out, hook it back up and it works for a week.

Q: Can it be left out in the cold IL winters?

I have only had it a few weeks, but I have had similar solar products that have nit survived our cold IL winters. I will be bringing mine inside for sure!!

Q: Does the solar panel store power, or does the sun have to be out for it to run?

Is an AV connection cord included/available for this model? (for when the sun is not strong enough to trip the solar power)

Q: Will the motor burn out if the water evaporates? Wondering if I need to disconnect it each time I leave for a weekend or vacation..

I imagine that it would burn out if left without water for an extended length of time. To avoid unnecessary wear, without disconnecting the unit, I simply turn the device over and lay it flat on its "tummy". As long as light doesn't hit the solar panel, the pump won't run. When I'm ready to use the pump again, I make sure that the reservoir has sufficient water and then turn the panel right-side up
