I have not a drop of actual English blood in me, but from childhood I’ve loved having a cuppa to start my day, and to continue it until bedtime. My parents drank coffee; I opted for tea. I’ve even drunk it with milk, something unknown even now in my native Texas. There’s been one part of my routine that hasn’t been satisfying: the dripping spout!I’ve bought and used every type of teapot and drip catcher I could find, and yet none of them are satisfactory. I’ve known about the famed Brown Betty teapot for decades, but hadn’t ever purchased one. For our 54th wedding anniversary, my husband gifted me this pot, and I love it!First, it truly is dripless. It also holds the perfect amount for my morning ritual, retains heat well (I do use a cozy), and the handle is comfortable to lift and pour. I like the infuser, as it holds my loose leaf tea and makes it simple to use. In short, well done, Cauldon Ceramics!Now, if they would just develop and market a dripless milk pitcher, my mornings would be sublime…

I've been using this re-engineered teapot for a year or so. This redesign brings back features from the past that worked. The full rim around the lid precludes spillage while pouring tea. A cut-out section of the bottom allows air exchange in the event the teapot is stored over a wet area. The spout does not drip. The handle is larger than the other Brown Betty teapots currently sold by the same manufacturer, meaning fewer burned knuckles while pouring. A flange along the top prevents the lid from falling off. One can pour the last drop of tea without worrying about the lid falling off. These simple things add value to the product, and result in making tea easier.

First, I really like this teapot. It's the perfect size, the basket is great for easy cleanup (but not so great for teas that need lots of brew space, I don't use it for those), and it legit does not drip! But, 4 months in, with regular use-- not quite daily-- the glaze is cracked and telegraphs to the outside of the pot. Not sure if this is a common issue, or if I have an odd pot. Despite that, I'd buy again, but would be more inclined to gift one or two to others if I didn't worry about the longevity of the glaze.

I've been wanting a Brown Betty for a long time. Now that I'm spending more time at home I'm drinking more tea and now I can justify it to myself. It's a little lighter than I expected but it's easy to hold and pour and is pleasing to the eye. One thing is I have to get used to how much water to add. If you add too much it overflows through the downward facing spout. But that's just something I need to learn. I can't speak to how it hold heat because I use a cosy. All in all I think it's great.

Arrived this morning. Inspection revealed an item free of blemishes or defects. Lid and basket fit very well. It actually holds more than 900ml but be warned that overfilling will result in liquid pouring/siphoning out of the spout! Before filling with boiling water I made sure to "temper" the pot by filling the pot with hot water from the tap to avoid thermal shock to the ceramic. I filled the basket with 12g or about 5 teaspoons of loose leaf tea and poured boiling water over and waited 5 minutes. My reward was a perfect cup of tea!My only concern is that this item is advertised as "limited edition" but there is no indication as such like a production run number or code on the bottom of the pot. The uniqueness of the form factor or improvements to the design appears to be the only differentiation from other Brown Betty teapots. I'm interested in what "limited edition" means in regards to this design of pot and the number that will be produced and whether it may increase in value.

It’s a beautiful piece of art, as well as a practical everyday utensil. The sticker with the Union Jack comes separately, so you can decide if you want to personalize your Brown Betty or give it a more traditional look without it. The packaging is appropriate and mine arrived undamaged, but I would say the tip of the neck can use more protection. It feels very delicate, though, so I’ll be super careful every time I use it. Also, I believe it would be a good idea to temper it under hot water before using it. And yes, it is really handmade in the UK!

Love the redesigned features of : lid lock, because one time my lid fell off and broke whilst pouring a cuppa, dripless spout that really is dripless, infusion basket so I don’t have to scoop out leaves or use a strainer, extra thick handle to prevent burning fingers, and nesting lid design.Not sure on durability as this new pot is thinner and lighter (18.3 oz) than my original pot (27 oz). This may cause it to not retain heat so you better use a cozy or...good news for arthritic hands when it’s difficult to lift a heavy pot. I’ll let you know if it’s worthwhile paying almost double the price.Cheery-bye!

I wanted to love this teapot. I always wanted a Brown Betty. I bought the first one and it started to craze very badly and retuned it. I ordered a second. This one is crazing now the day AFTER the return window closed. It’s close to $90 wasted honestly.
