Great boots, but sizes not what you expect

It's been nearly 20 years since I last bought a pair of boots and I am genuinely surprised how good these are for the money. If, like me, you have mainly worn shoes, then you will need to get used to the higher heal and the abrupt change in slope of the insole just in front of the heal edge. That said, half an hour of wear and I can hardly notice it. They are slip-ons, with an elasticated side, so expect a little movement and slip while walking. Some thick socks can resolve this to a large degree but there will always be a little bit of play.The heal is just over an inch (about 2.5 cm) tall and given the depth of the boot sole, I think these should stand a good deal of use. The upper leather arrives matt black but takes a shine reasonably well. The leather is very supple, so there is no need to break these in before a long period of use. That suppleness does, however, come at a price; the leather is quite thin. Only time will tell if this is a weakness but I expect that regular polishing will maintain the uppers in good order - that same goes for all shoes.The style is equally at home with my boot-cut jeans or with an Edwardian three piece suit that I have; that is a real surprise!Well worth the money and I will certainly consider these again when the time comes for replacement.

Those are the best shoes I've had in my life. very comfortable, supporting, and sturdy. 100% recommended. I will be getting a backup pair soon, I think my wife might like them also (same size).20-Jun-2024:They feel good after wearing them in. Had several compliments on how they look. Good quality perfect fit very comfy

The boot looks good and is durable, I like the style very much, i looked at other reviews and bought a smaller sized, the supplier did give me the option of changing them but I declined ass I wanted them too much. I will give my size 8's away and buy a size 9 in the new year. Other than that they would get 5 STARS, from me for the item, and the aftercare!

These boots are absolutely fabulous. First they feels sturdy solid, but also they are incredibly warm, and the best of all. No blisters when you first wear them. They feel like slippers and really are extremely comfortable.Size wise they are perfect fit. Easy to put on, and are excellent for walking or using if you bike.At that price tag... I m impressed
