Great Book!
This book is fantastic. I was happy to find that this went beyond a beginner level to the world of colored pencil. I didn't need another book that spent time explaining various pencil, paper types or how to layer color etc. Was so great to have the artist explain in greater detail how they got the final outcome - from beginning to end. Finally a book that tells you all the details, for instance how to transfer a line drawing to good paper, be it light box, free hand or transfer paper. In every book I own there is never much of a mention of this part. The materials each artist lists are helpful in that I never knew so many different kinds of tools are out there (erasers, transfer paper etc), I also enjoyed the question answer with each artist on their style, technique. Also, the fact that there are so many different artists in the book is so so great. Many different styles detailed. Could hardly contain my excitement while reading through this book. HIGHLY recommend this book . Thank you Ann Kulberg!

Landscapes, Seascapes and more!
I did find this book helpful, each artist goes through the process step by step. And each artist seems to have a different approach! That is actually reassuring, it means you can use what is comfortable for you and not worry that you're doing it the "wrong" way. There is no wrong way! Included in this book are artists who have a more abstract look to their works. I personally didn't appreciate their stuff --- but to each his own. Included are artists doing traditional landscapes with grass & trees, water, seascapes, etc. but there are also examples of urban landscapes. If you are interested in improving your landscapes I would recommend this book. It probably won't solve all your problems, but it should give you more direction and guidance. .

Great variety of styles, clear step-by-step tutorials
Have purchased half a dozen colored pencil books and this is by far the best for I guess advanced amateur artist. No pages of reviews of different brands, papers and other materials. Just gets into the instruction right away. There are 7 multi-page, detailed demos of a particular painting and the rest are mini-demos on a particular aspect of landscape painting such as clouds, waves, etc. I had started with books featuring fruit, flowers etc. This is completely different and just what I wanted. Much inspiration here. Highly recommend.

Not for beginners
Not for a beginner. I didn’t have the material or the right brand of pencil(I have prisma and polychrome pencils) some of the drawings on done with different type of paper as well ( not the usually color pencil paper or water color paper).

Excellent book for intermediate & advanced
Overall. I loved this book for detailed instructions on the demos and the picture variety. However, I would have liked to see bigger pictures in each step for the price point. It’s not for a beginner but perfect for intermittent and advanced artists.
