Certified Refurbished Echo Show (2nd Gen) – Premium sound and a vibrant 10.1” HD screen - Sandstone

So I bought this on prime day since I already have the echo show 5 and have been dying to get the 10. It was a total steal and you would never know it was refurbished it’s came packaged looking brand new and it did have the power cord, I saw some reviews mentioned theirs didn’t have it but mine looked exactly as if it were a brand new package. It works great and Alexa runs my life now, she keeps my schedules, I get reminders all day to stay on task, she controls a bunch of my outlets, electronics and even my Christmas lights. It’s like having an assistant that I am talking to ALL day long. The sound quality is really nice on this and the screen is beautiful. I ended up moving it to my bedroom and putting my 5 in the kitchen so I could put my bedroom tv in my kids room cause whatever I’m watching is usually on prime or YouTube and it’s big enough to not need a tv in my room since I don’t spend a ton of time in there. I got the complimentary year of food network kitchen with cooking videos And daily recipes which is awesome. Overall it’s a must have and I will at some point have these in EVERY ROOM of my house; right now I have the dot in my kids room, the echo show 5 in my kitchen, and this in my bedroom. I also have a Facebook portal in my living room which is how I know what great quality this is because the best things about that portal is Alexa is on it and the camera is nice but it’s no where near as responsive as the echo show and the sound quality isn’t anywhere near as good also the screen on this is lightning fast as opposed to that where it’s less responsive almost a little laggy. I’m the least technologically inclined person I have ever met it’s like a running joke with my friends how I can barely turn things off and on and now with Alexa all over my house (who listens better than any of my family members) I don’t even have to do that. Worth every penny friends, I promise you won’t regret this one.

Shipping was fast. The unit, when unpackaged, appears to be brand new. It was easy to set up and we have taken all of our separate smart home items and integrated them into the unit. The process was simple and straight forward.It’s a novelty to use, at this point. Alexa is responsive and using routines makes it simple to do everything from turning lights on and off, to setting the thermostat and viewing our ring/amazon cameras.The camera intergration was the main reason it was purchased. It takes less time to view the cameras with this unit then it does using our phones.But we are also in enjoying the sound quality. We stream pandora most of the time and the sound from it is amazing.It also integrates to our fire sticks, but I have disabled that function for the moment. We have found after using the drop in feature, our smart TV input has been set to the fire stick HDMI port. This may be caused by a momentary echo show output to the fire stick. The input for it is set to auto switch when the fire stick awakes up.At this point, we are very pleased with this unit.UPDATE. I found the issue that caused the HDMI port to the fire stick. It was a setting in my smart TV. I have since been able to control the fire stick with the echo show. The interface works well.Update 7/15/19We are increasing what we are doing with this unit. We now are using it for shopping lists, to do lists, and additional automation.I have added 2 Amazon smart plugs and the routines to control them. We are also using it Guard function. That function works well except if we leave a radio or TV on for the dogs. It sometimes mistakes sounds for glass breakage. The app records the sound and allows you to play it back. That’s a plus.I will be adding more smart plugs shortly. We are also going to try and place orders using the unit.

Arrived in pristine condition....... couldn't tell it had been refurbished. No problem setting it up. I'm happy I decided to upgrade to this unit. I still use my First Generation Show, but moved it to the bedroom for the clock display. I really like the larger screen on this model. Still disappointed I cant stop that irritating "try" message at the bottom of the screen and the fact I cant adjust the font size or style or color of the clock numbers like I can on my spot. Those of us with Macular Degeneration would be elated if we could change the numbers to appear yellow. It would also be nice to be able to increase the size of the numbers and move them to a different corner...or even in the center of the display.I haven't tried the drop in feature on this unit yet. I hope the audio relay is a little better than the First Gen show. Voices seemed to lag from one unit to the other, often missing part of a discussion. It's not due to a slow internet connection on either end. Still cant watch youtube without workarounds I understand. Maybe someday.I use Kasa devices to turn lights on and off verbally and had no problem with this unit recognizing them. Didn't have to do anything to the show after set up......it just found the lights. Music and audio books are crystal clear to hear. I can also pair my remote to work with it. It's able to change or pause or rewind my Directv channels and it also works with my Fire Stick without having to use the Fire Stick Remote. All in all, I'm very pleased with this unit, especially the screen size.
