Extremely bright with low power consumption and at a good price point
This was my first purchase from JDM ASTAR so I was a little hesitant, but my worries were soon resolved when my package arrived. It arrived promptly and well packaged in an electrostatic bag. These bulbs, like every led, only work one way when you put them in. If you put the bulb in, you should make sure it works before you put the lens back on so that you can flip the bulb around to correct it. It is as easy as that. Most lenses pop off with a flat head screwdriver but some, like my license plate light, require a little more finesse. In the picture I attached you will see the 194 have the more white light with a slight yellow hue. Probably around 5500-5000k. The cool white light to the right is from JDM ASTAR as well so if you are trying to match different types of bulbs(194 and 212-2 in my case), then make sure you buy all in the same chipset. For example all bulbs are 5630 or all are 5730 chipsets of the same color type. That is just my two cents. Now these bulbs looked well made and extremely bright, but I have two bulbs that had a single led that did not work out of the five that are on the bulb. Now this could have happened for any number of reasons and I am sure the seller would have sent me out new ones, but that was not a deal breaker for me since they still worked. On another note when I say these things are bright, I mean BRIGHT. You will have no privacy what so ever in you car at night if you turn these lights on, even with tint. So just try to keep that in mind.

Great lights. Sad Sienna story
So these are great lights. Photo 1 is a before-and-after photo of the rear courtesy lights in a Toyota Sienna. The photo doesn't fully depict the difference.... it's huge. And the color is white, not blue or purple and certainly not the amber of the stock incandescents. And this 10-pack is a terrific value. And delivery was reasonably prompt. ALL good.To start with I bought these bulbs because my 2004 Sienna has more than once developed a dead battery because it's quite easy to turn the courtesy lights on and leave the car that way overnight. I'm somewhat shocked that the battery is that small, but one advantage of LEDs is a much lower power draw. So I thought I'd try these as they were very reasonably priced. So why Sad Sienna? This isn't a review of Toyota products but a caution against assuming you're just going to pop off the lens, change the bulbs and have a beer to congratulate yourself. It's ridiculously hard to change these bulbs in a Sienna. No kidding. Completely insane. You cannot grab the old bulb.... period. You have to remove the entire fixture (photo ) and use a toothpick or a cut-off Q-Tip to push the bulb out from behind. And to remove the light fixture you need T20 and T30 bits... the two screws are very different sizes (photo 2). Changing these bulbs is a great antidote to having too little frustration in your life and a wonderful way to expand your expletive vocabulary.I should have gotten a clue: the owner's manual didn't have directions for changing these bulbs.Oh, and remember to try the bulbs before you re-install the fixture. ALL LEDs have a right and wrong way because of polarity... if you install them the wrong way they won't work, but all you need to do is re-install them 180 degrees different. You really don't want to do this after you've re-installed the fixture.

Great low cost auto LEDs, just need a little bit of tinkering to make them work perfectly.
I got these to replace the incandescent bulbs for my tag lights on my 2005 Chevy Colorado. They worked fairly well, with some finagling. The first one I tried to install worked good all the way up till I had to twist the socket into the housing, then it went out. I pulled it back out of the housing and it lit up again. After about 10 minutes of playing around with it, I determined that every time I twisted the socket back in, the end of the bulb would press up against the lens for the housing. This some how caused the LEDs to go out. I pulled it back out and tested this theory with my finger, by pressing against the end of it with my finger. The way these are build is fairly simple, they are just a plastic skeleton with a wrap around them, and all of the diodes are on the wrap with the solder points on it also. There are a couple of wires on the inside that are soldered to the connections for the end diodes and the others are in series with these connections. When ever I would push down on the end, the sticker wrap would shift and press in, causing a short in the connections. Since they are wired in series, this causes all of the diodes to go out. I ended up having to scrap the first bulb in the end, as I could not get it to function properly after that. I could get it come one, but it would not light up to full brightness and would flicker. I used a new bulb and carefully placed it in the housing trying not to put too much pressure on the end. I was able to get it to go into the housing and stay illuminated, but then I started having an issue that when the bulb vibrated it would go out. I pulled it back out, and took a look at it again. This time I found out the connections on the bulb were shifting and loosing contact with the tabs on the inside of the socket. From what I can tell, this is because these are assembled with very thin wires on the wedge to make the connection. The bulbs that I had bought a year or so back had larger wires on the end, and don't have the issue of vibrating and going out. I assume they did this to save on cost, but it makes the bulbs more sensitive to vibration. I was able to fix this by first taking a very small flat head screwdriver and bending the tabs on the inside of the socket (with the power turned off to the lights of course to prevent an accidental short and blowing a fuse) to make them a bit tighter on the wedge. Then I took the wires on the bulb and looped them around to make more surface area for the contact. I have had these installed for a little over a month now and they are still working fine. With the other 7 bulbs I replaced the interior dome lights in my wife's 2008 Honda Pilot (the same way I installed my tag lights), and they have all been working good so far also. Out of the pack of 10, I only had one bulb that will not work (the first one), but that could very well be my fault. Over all these are not bad LEDs for the cost, and they are way brighter than the incandescent bulbs that were previously installed. They may not be the highest quality assembled LEDs, but for the cost of 10 of them they are a great deal. I have purchased a few other types of LEDs made by JDM Astar, and they all function great other than the thin connection wires.

Great bargain
Very cheap, and work amazingly for INTERIOR lighting. I had 2 in my exterior license plate bulbs that see more use I suppose, both started flickering from what I assume is overheating in about a week. However, the interior bulbs have been in constant use for a year and show no issues. For the price, they are super bright and work perfect!

Excellent Buy!
Excellent quality product. Extremely bright white lights. The reason for 4 stars is because 1 out of the 10 LEDs did not work. However, considering the price, it is still a very good buy.

Not sure about the quality of these LED replacement bulbs
I purchased a package of 10 of these in June 2015 and installed them in my vehicle shortly thereafter. Now, in February 2016 I had to replace both of them because several SMD segments were dead, and both bulbs started to flicker annoyingly. 8 months lifespan for an LED replacement????Update: Both bulbs were installed in the vehicle interior overhead lamp sockets.

Not bright as expected
Nice clear white light but not very bright. I was expecting it to be very bright but I guess it's to be expected that such a small led could give off a real amount of light. It's great for interior lights inside the automobile.
